eta: first 2 cards are religious, last card is christmas/new years

i'm making this boxed stitch kit & have been crocheting for years. i've never seen this wording before on a pattern. can someone explain what they mean?

right ear:
R1: beginning from top of left ear with berry blue, form an adjustable ring, work 6sc in center of the ring, do not join; working in round, using a scrap of yarn to make end of every rounds ahead

i understand that the adjustable ring is the same as a magic ring, but the rest after the 6sc doesn't make sense to me

i believe the kit is from 5 below. the person who bought it couldn't figure it out & asked me to make it, & now i'm stuck

i found this bundle of different first day of issue penguin stamps & fell in love with them 🥰

they're from the australian antarctic territory (x2), new zealand, the british antarctic territory, & the falkland islands

my first few swaps have come in!

penguins are my absolute favorite & when i saw u/brookuslicious make a post with one of the penguin additional ounce stamps, i asked if they would trade me some stamps for one, & they so kindly said yes! they even sent me a few unused ones in addition to the postmarked one on the envelope i had asked for

then i found a first day of issue envelope on ebay which got delivered today. i added the stamps from u/brookuslicious & it's the perfect display! (bonus that i can see it from the desk i write all my letters & postcards at 🐧)

i bought these pre-stamped vintage postcards from a local collector recently & they're blank on the other side, so i decided to decorate them with art!

i used a style that resembles some letterpress printed art i recently came across & love how it turned out

the 3 stamped sides you can see are (top) 6c, (middle) 8c, & (bottom) 6c - the first US postcard adapted to commemorate its 100th anniversary 1873-1973

i'm loving how this one turned out 🥰 completely accidental that it was 6 stamps!

looots of outgoing mail today, good practice for the new rates!

i love personalizing stamp math! the one with all the space stamps was a request to send a postcard i'd love to receive (space) with trains as a like & the german cartoon stamp because it's going to germany

and the top one on the second photo is going to a family who loves marine life, geology, & horses

super excited to send my homemade crane postcard (top row of stamps) to a biology teacher!

pulled a profile on postcrossing of a vet who likes wartime stamps, so it was only fitting to create this postcard

made some postcards from the commemorative books i just got with the corresponding stamps - can't wait to send them out!

i found lots of old stamps this weekend! i can't wait to practice lots of stamp math with these 😂
