Converted to analog

I purchased a Canon 64 gun safe about three years ago… Or so

Safe is great, plenty of room lots of adjustability… The one major drawback was the digital lock that is well known to fail… So well known that Cannon will give you a free one with almost no questions asked (if you want to deal with their Customer Service… Which is terrible)

So after the original lock failed, the replacement lock failed, and five other Amazon bought digital locks failed I decided, “screw it” I’m putting a dial lock on..

And after a boatload of cutting, drilling, bending, and even some work with an acetylene torch… I managed to outfit, a sergeant and Greenleaf mechanical dial lock on to my safe.

I had to post this somewhere because, while I am pretty good at problem-solving and backyard engineering… This is the first time I’ve ever done anything like this and I’m kind of amazed that it worked.

Anyways, thank you for reading.

I have pictures of the process, no video because there would’ve been a lot of cussing. But if anyone is interested, I could make another post and explain the steps.

If not, that’s cool too🤷‍♂️

What a dock block!

I thought America was the only country that was taking away ABCLGBTQR7:$bcc rights!

Somehow, I know this is Donald Trump’s fault!

Does the lack of gauges in the Prius concern you?

This is my first Prius(2009) and the lack of engine gauges genuinely concerns me! Even in my old beater car(2006 Aveo) it at least had an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge.

Anyways… My Prius now has an oil pressure gauge. And honestly, I’m pretty impressed if this is relatively correct… 10W-30 oil and it’s making about 40 to 50 pounds at an idle that’s pretty damn good. I haven’t had a chance to actually drive it to see what the max pressures look like.
