High-performance inference of NVIDIA's Parakeet TDT 0.6B V2 English transcription model, in the browser.

A fully custom, dependancy-free implementation with raw WebGPU compute shaders and SIMD WebAssembly audio frontend.

1 hour of audio transcribed in 20 seconds (Apple M5, Google Chrome 151.0.7922.72).

This might be the first instance of fast & accurate transcription running locally in the browser. So long as your device has a GPU and can run a WebGPU-capable browser, parakeet.wgsl will run on it.

And as WebGPU transpiles to practically any GPU, this also opens up the path to getting parakeet.wgsl running offline / outside of the browser, via Dawn or wgpu, so that fast, accurate transcription can be brought to offline programs, with GPU acceleration and support for nearly all hardware/devices.

I've always been annoyed by podcast ads. They've gotten kinda out of hand as of late lol. Searched and found a few apps that could detect and skip them, but they were all paid. So I made a free one. To my knowledge this is the first podcast app with free ad block.

iOS (26+) only for now. If the app becomes popular I'll def think of doing an Android version as well.

For mods: yes, this is technically self-promotion. But I'm not trying to sell you anything. As I said, the app is completely free and doesn't even have user accounts. Just made something cool that I hope people will find useful. If anyone's suspicious about how it's able to be free, i.e. doesn't it cost money to run, are you selling my data (I'm not) etc. I can explain in the comments. I may open-source the app at some point; still thinking about it.

Always found it incredibly annoying that Spotify Premium doesn't mean no podcast ads. So I searched and found a few apps that can detect and skip the ads, but they're all paid. So I made a free one. To my knowledge this is the first podcast app with free ad block.

Works for any English podcast. You won't be able to find Spotify exclusives though because, well, they're exclusive to Spotify lol. But the vast majority of podcasts are not exclusives.

iOS (26+) only for now. If the app becomes popular I'll def think of doing an Android version as well.
