Your ship is standing too far apart for scandalous photos? No problem, just push them together (not a bug)
Yes, really, this is not a bug, video is my in-game footage taken using Momo camera. You can just use Nikki to "push" them to each other. This works for other NPCs too.

The 2nd tutorial is simpler and works for me, but I wanted to credit the first creator for making me realise that it was even possible to move NPCs with her Giovanni tutorial.
The tutorials are in Chinese but because there's already a mini drama on rednote over who "pioneered" the video tutorial, I won't be making any. But these are the basic steps:
- Turn on Photo mode
- Stand Nikki next to the NPC you want to move
- Toggle NPC off. Use move feature to have Nikki take one step into the spot where the NPC previously stood.
- Toggle NPC on (basically just to verify that Nikki didn't go right through him. If she did, that means it did not work. Nikki should not clip through the NPCs as the whole point is for her to bump them off the spot. Someone who understands physics mechanics in games will be able to explain this better than me. If she keeps clipping through, refer to the first tip).
- Toggle NPC off. Toggle Nikki off. Toggle NPC on. If it worked, you will see that the NPC has visibly moved. Then toggle Nikki back on.
- Rinse and repeat steps 3 - 5.
Tips:
- If the NPC doesn't move after a couple of tries, log out of the game, log in again and try again. Don't ask me why, the tutorial creator explained it but I didn't really get it. The only key takeaway I got was: It's random.
Honestly once it actually works (I only needed to "reset" once), it doesn't take long to position them. Took me about 10 minutes to push Angert to Meghill. Of course, if you're very particular about how you want to position the NPC, it will take a lot more effort. Some people on rednote managed to get "kissing" pics but I'm just content with them standing together.
- Once you get your NPC in the right position, you can move Nikki near them and use her lighting feature to illuminate them. Even after you hide her, the lighting remains.
- Do not exit Photo mode until you're done taking your photos, the NPC that was moved will slide back into position and you'll have to do it all over again. If you have any background props that you want to use, be sure to place them first. Also, make sure you have already used Pear Pal to toggle to the desired time of the day because you can't do that inside photo mode.
- It is possible for the NPC to go off course (first time I tried I ended up steering Angert even further away), so be patient, take it slow and make sure your Nikki is pushing them in the right direction.
- The mental visual of Meghill and Angert being all wtf at Nikki bumping them from their spot is probably very distracting. Try not to think about it, they're just a bunch of pixels at the end of the day.
There you go, have fun! But maybe don't post to your shimmer album in case they get reported. I honestly do not know if this is "illegal" and whether Infold would "fix" this. But I do know according to the rednote creators that this has been feasible since last year.
I typed this up in a rush, feel free to ask if you need further clarifications.
