An attempt at punk lolita clothes except the clothes I'm wearing aren't Lolita brand

Basically, I (female) do not shave or remove my body hair mostly because of sensory issues. But because most women do it and society expects women to do it, I feel insecure about wearing lolita (and ouji [when girlmoding], but mostly lolita) with my body hair visible, especially when wearing short socks. I'm afraid that I'll be judged for it, whether it's by other lolitas or by normies. That's also the reason I never go blouseless and I usually wear UTKs, OTKs, or tights, but in the summertime that can get pretty hot.
Are there any other lolitas out there who don't shave? Doesn't matter if you're a woman or not. I get happy regardless for seeing this kind of representation and it would mean so much to me 💙
I had my btssb rocking horses and antaina tea parties for years. 1,5 y ago I moved to a new place and both, after like 3 wears, started to disintegrate. I also had pu leather boots, cheap taobao brand, wore them multiple times before, and after a few wears here, the soles cracked in half.
The main difference is that I moved to the place with less humidity and higher average temperature by ~2-4 degrees Celsius and slightly harder water. After wearing them, I wash them after each wear (warm water + occasionally dish soap if very dirty) and make sure they're wiped dry before putting them into the closet. Antaina ones I had for 10 years, so it wouldn't be a surprise that they gave up, but it's weird that all 3 pairs broke at the same time. I have 2 other pairs of lolita shoes (another antaina and nameless ones), and they're in mint condition, but I haven't worn them outside yet.
Do you have any tips on how to prevent it? How do you care for your pu shoes, using protective sprays/oils, washing them with demineralised water, storing them in a specific way?
I'd also like to know if it's possible to fix the cracks on rocking horses because losing them would hurt the most T-T
This is for an art submission themed "Ice Cream" that I wanted to enter, so I thought I try this concept design before I turn it into a full illustration! Does it give off the theme of ice cream sundae in a glass? Please let me know what you think! ^^
Time flies so effing fast, and now I'm a whole year behind with posting coords... 😅
I'll try and not drone on, but be prepared for blog post:
First time wearing this NanShengGe SK (even though I've had it for some years now, but for reasons unknown, I never got around to coord it until now) and chose it for my birthday to symbolize myself being an "ugly duckling" that turned into a beautiful swan - I'm almost half a century old now and despite being disabled, gaining a lot of weight (and apparently still gaining) with puffy wrinkles and lumpy saggyness everywhere, I've never felt more beautiful than I do now. And when I look at old pictures, I wish I could comfort and convince my younger self how beautiful she looked, because she really did in her own awkward way, but she never felt it, and despaired so much due to never fitting into the given beauty standards...

Now, I make my own standards and terms, and I'm thriving mentally despite my body falling apart.

I love incorporating non lolita items in lolita coords, and the vest/waistcoat was the item that pulled everything together (after I sew two small velvet loops onto it, in order for the chain to have something to clasp onto).
At the time, I wished I had a White princess-sleeved blouse to emulate swan wings, but this blouse by Surface Spell did the trick neatly too IMO.
Even though the coat looks spectacular, I can't recommend it for actual cold weather (it's not very warm and wind goes right through it) and the ruffle trim is very poor quality material (had to burn ALL the edges because they frayed so badly). Though it is possible that Dracula Clothing has upgraded it, as I bought mine almost 10 years ago (I'm pretty sure it's still available in several colorways + there's also matching capes now).
Also, I don't recommend wearing bracelets with inlaid stones; I really wanted to wear the beautiful old bracelet that my MIL has gifted me (the broad one with simili stones inlaid in silver) and had some slimmer bracelets to match on the other wrist, but I quickly had to take them all off because they snagged the fabric of my SK pulling threads out.

Last slide should show all the coords I've worn before and since my birthday - tell me which coord you want to see posted next (monochrome Purple coord has been postet and was just used in order to have an even number so the collage didn't look weird) .

Hi so I 18F love lolita fashion, but however I look bad with a high neckline. For me I realised a neckline that shows the collarbone or a shoulder heavily flatters my face shape. If I keep a high neckline I’ll look very puffy and awkward and won’t feel like myself. Is there recommended styling ways or alternate lolita necklines from the traditional ones that may work?
Metamorphose's Magical Hooded JSK in khaki!
Wanted to wear the kind of coord I would've worn to high school back in the aughts! I forgot how much I love skirts!! Everytime I do a skirt based coord I am reminded I love them and need more! Last pic is the rossette I made at the meet!
What are some stereotypes about Lolita that you still see floating around? Bonus points if they haven't been accurate since like... 2014.
For me it has to be the belief that Lolita is always expensive no matter the source and no exceptions, impossible to obtain, or that not wearing brand (or, god forbid, mixing brands) gets you crucified in the community.

Edit for clarity
Context: I have the Hydrangea in Space JSK in size L (hence the username). While gaining weight and muscle mass has been better for my physical health, I can't fit in this dress anymore. I already had a tailor add a panel in the JSK, but I can no longer fit in this either. (Bust is about 108cm).
I have a personal attachment to this dress and I'd rather not get rid of it. Is it worth trying to find a tailor that can expand the bodice's measurements, or should I just turn this into a skirt and look for a blouse?
Hello, I was wondering if any other lolitas here knit and what have you knitted to suit your coords? Any suitable knitting pattern recommendations for a lolita?
I myself am knitting the Katharina Kuntz's cute anime mascot scarf in white and pink rn and think it will look cute with sweet coords. I am also looking for a cute cardigan/bolero to go with my dresses and so far have liked Fabel knitwears designs, but would like other ideas as well. And ofc please let me know if you have anything else lolita friendly in mind, I just love knitting and would love to mix my two interests together.
So I designed some clowncore inspired ouji and pride inspired ouji. Not sure if both completely work, but I do like them.
The 1. Version is inspired by the lolita dress I already own.
The 2. Version is mostly designed to rememind of pride flags. I am not sure if the half skirt fits with the vest. But a plain black vest was kind of boring.
The outfit on the right (blue/pink and yellow/purple) is meant to be worn with the black vast and half skirt, but I am unsure if these would actually work together.
But what do you think?
I got the most compliments I have ever gotten in lolita in this coord!! Made me feel so proud of the work that went into sewing it
It's so hot outside but the fit is worth it! So happy with this make up too

Hi All,
This is the megathread for all beginner questions about wearing and coording lolita outfits. We would like to contain beginner questions (or otherwise, questions that don't generate a discussion) to one place.
It's convenient for you: check here first if you have a question, it might already be answered!
It's convenient for us: it makes it easier for mods to keep things clean and fresh and fun around the sub.
It makes it convenient for our veteran lolitas: no one wants to see the same 5 questions in their feed all the time.
We will be closing and redirecting beginner question posts to this thread for now on.
Thanks for your cooperation!
BUT FIRST Check out the previous Ask Us Anything thread, you answer might be answered already: Ask Us Anything: June 2026
I loveeee this dress and i saw it having immense lolita potential.... Ive been in love since
Also on a side note, what do you guys think of not tying your ribbon underneath your chin on stuff like headdresses? I tend to not do so, as i dont like the feeling + i contour my jawline so i dont want my makeup on it.. but ive heard of people thinking its an
"ita" thing. Just wondering since i am still relatively new in wearing the fashion!!! Anyways gloomy bear lovers rise up (*^w^*)!!
I forgot to post the pictures last post woops LOL
Hello All!
This is a megathread for being able to find specific dresses or items that you see online and don't know where to find them or what their name/brand/print name are!
There has been a large influx of people looking for certain dresses posts and so we are going to congregate them all here for easy of access and to help clean up the subreddit. So from here on out any posts asking for help in finding a dress will be deleted and asked to post in this megathread.
Here you can post either a link from Imgur with the image of the dress or link to a website like Pinterest so the community can help find where the dress can be found.
Happy Hunting!
I never post here, but I really should start.
Anyway, I've been feeling a bit more like myself lately, so I've been wearing lolita more often.
