I genuinely never thought I could have this much fun writing. It’s been truly amazing, from spending a year trying to craft my first story and then spending nearly another six months trying to get my head around how to get it published. And then one day accepting that self publishing was also a really genuine route to market. Now having finally pushed the button and got it out there I’m just so blown away by all the really kind support of friends family and people who purchased the book. People have gifted it to friends and family and even asked for personal signed copies. I feel blessed.

The day I got my first review was something truly magical too. Well I’m not finished yet. I’ve moved on to the sequel. I’ve taken everything I’ve learned from the first book and I’m putting  it into the next one. I can’t wait to share the next book with you when it’s ready and I’ll definitely be looking for ARC readers when the time comes.

But for the moment I’m trying to get about 1000 words down a day and get a first draft out and that’s going really well. I’m falling in love with all the characters all over again and remembering why I wrote the original book in the first place.

So a massive thank you to everyone who shown such love and support to A Small State of Chaos

My debut novel - A Small State of Chaos came out last week!

My debut novel came out last week. It’s a darkly comedic spy novel and a lot of fun. It’s self published and I did all the artwork myself to save some money 😆 Let me know what you think!

“Forget 007, this is 0.07" - Barbara from Bakewell

"Possibly the most exciting thing to happen to the spy genre since GoldenEye the musical" - Geoff from Newport

Hisbergovia. A communist nation so small you’ve probably never heard of it. So small, in fact, it can only afford a single spy.

For years, Willi Hansellman has quietly spied on Britain without attracting attention, exactly how the Hisbergovian government likes it. After all, tiny countries survive by staying out of trouble.

But when a mysterious murder on the London Underground sets off a chain of events, Willi is thrust into a deadly race involving pigeons, intelligence agencies, masked killers, dating apps, and possibly some of the finest fried chicken in all of London. All the while, he must avoid disappointing the Hisbergovian dictator back home, whose preferred solution to staffing problems is a hangman’s rope.

One spy. One tiny country. Absolutely no budget

Two years later and I finally hit the Publish button

It’s been a hell of a journey of determination and self belief but I’m proud to say I’ve finally self published my debut novel on Amazon.

It took me a year to write and edit. And then a further year of emailing literary agents. Almost all of whom ignored me outright. So I thought I’d take back control and self publish.

So here it is! I hope you love reading it as much as I loved writing it…
