Please help prepare a post- myomectomy surgery list ❤️

I would love to hear what everyone had prepared before getting into their myomectomy! It’s never too much! From necessity to extra comfort, I’ll take anything ❤️

Back story: i’m flying to get this surgery abroad. It will be a robotic myomectomy to remove 5 fibroids with the largest being 10cm.

Thank you queens ❤️

Difference in symptoms between low ferritin vs. low hemoglobin?

Hello my anemia warriors,

I get that low ferritin leads to low hemoglobin. But they were times where my iron store was lower and my hemoglobin was just fine except when I was on my period because I suffer from fibroids and heavy prolonged bleeding. However most recently I continued bleeding for 2months due to an early miscarriage and my hemoglobin dropped very much (the lowest ever) and I had two iron infusion in two months.

I’m trying to understand what I took for my reality all this time, about two years: fatigue, anxiety, laziness, irritation when it truly was iron-deficiency anemia. But now that my hemoglobin also dropped even lower, I’m trying to understand if low ferritin and low hemoglobin eventually lead to the same symptoms? And are they always positively correlated? I’m basically trying to figure out if after my infusion, the adjustment of my iron level, before even getting to my hemoglobin improving, will show some improvement.

Anyone was cleared to try conceiving 3months post an open/robotic myomectomy?

I would be interested in hearing from anyone who had a fibroid distorting their uterine cavity, like a submuscoal one removed and as such their uterus being touched ❤️

Possible rupture after week 5 of MTX and decreased HCG from 2095 to 82?

Hi everyone,

I’m in pain as im writting this down but tired of ER visits with inconclusive responses. I had what they labeled as a Pregancy of Unknown location. Was treated with MTX and my HCG was doubling down and decreasing nicely. All this time I have been bleeding heavily for now 2months. Passing large clots. Ultrasound still doesnt show anything. I had 5 ultrasound since the beginning. They keep saying my ovary looks fine. Last one was 2days ago when I went to the ER after intense cramps and pressure on my side. Not too sharp but noticeable enough to get to the ER.

My bleeding has lowered and yesterday completely stopped. I’m spotting now and then but thats it. Today, no heavy bleeding but felt a suddent uterus contraction. Painful one yet. My Hcg is still declining.

My question is did anyone rupture at HCG lower than a 100? For those who didn’t rupture, is it normal to have increased pain, without bleeding, as HCG falls and the pregnancy resolves?

I’ll take anything at this point. I have been in the ER 6times since all of this started. Fainted once. Found my self in reanimation room. Being pooked for IV at least 4times and I stopped counting my blood draw. I’m tired. I’m sad. I’m depressed. I’m anxious. It’s been 2months. Living in pain and anxiety. I don’t know what to do anymore.

Anyone had a successful pregnancy with a Submucosal Fibroid bigger than 4cm?

Please share your experience including how long it took you to conceive and if you were able to carry the baby safely ❤️

If you had more than one, including a large intramural (mine’s +7cm), I would love to hear it too.

Anyone who lived fibroid free after a surgery?

I’m guessing anyone free from these monsters may not be looking at the sub anymore but let me try!

Collecting data for my decision with surgery and of course for a positive mindset walking into it ❤️

Also looking for people who went through a fertility preserving route procedure and not hysterectomy!

Fibroids Removal Treatment Options: please share the lesser known and/or fertility preserving ones!

Hello,

I’m realizing that, despite being deeply educated on fibroids and being only about a month away from my surgery, I’m still learning about new treatment options all the time.

Most of us are familiar with procedures such as:
• Hysteroscopy
• Myomectomy
• Hysterectomy

But I’d love to hear about some of the lesser-known or newer alternatives. For example, I recently came across HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound), which I had never heard of before.

For those of us who hope to preserve fertility and avoid invasive procedures whenever possible, I think it would be really valuable to have a discussion about all the available options.

I also think it depends a lot on where you live. Some providers may not discuss certain options because of insurance limitations, local guidelines, or simply because their hospital or center doesn’t offer them. That’s another reason why it’s helpful to learn from different people everyday.

Sharing is caring, and this community never falls short of that. I truly appreciate all of you ❤️

Submucosal Fibroids: Early management is better than leaving it and see ?

I’m sharing this because I wish I did things differently. I hope I will positively impact someone out there.
I had a submucosal fibroid that was 2cm when it was found.
It was right before my wedding. I was already noticing heavy period and intense cramps but my OBGYN recommended me leaving it and TTC first since it was the plan right after my wedding.
I got married, been TTC for almost 6month before getting pregnant and having an early miscarriage which I’m convinced was caused by fibroid since it was distorting my uterine cavity. Also, right before getting pregnant I got an MRI from a different doctor which shows my fibroid, in one year, growing to 6cm. He even told me “I would remove it before TTC, because you would be labeled as high risk pregnancy and might have difficulty conceiving due to lower implantation chances given to the fibroid location”. Two months later one of his points were proven with my early miscarriage.

I’m now due for a myomectomy but I deeply regret not having it removed vaginally when it was still small, with a hysteroscopy. It will delay my TTC journey because post surgery, I need to wait 6months before TTC and I will mever be able to give birth naturally but through a C-section.

There are worst story out there, but I’m sharing this, to give my advice, and I gave the same advice to all my close ones with fibroids: get the submucosal fibroid out as soon as you can because when smaller they are removable without an invasive surgery.

Early Miscarriage/Suspected Ectopic Bleeding time: 8weeks?

Hello everyone,

I started bleeding at 5weeks of pregnancy and thought initially it was an early miscarriage until my HCG have been slowly rising or at times decreasing and so my OB decided to treat me with MTX. I have had multiple large clots and medium to heavy bleeding. It’s been 2weeks since my MTX injection and 8weeks since I have been cramping and bleeding, passing clots.

Is that normal? Has anyone experienced that long period of bleeding, large clots and “mild” uterus contraction at some times of the day? My HCG is falling and it went from 2000 to now 400 in 2weeks post MTX but I’m worried about the continued bleeding and would love to hear similar experience.

Thank you ❤️

Anyone had a “Robotic Myomectomy”? Please share your experience

Hello everyone ❤️

First, I want to express my immense gratitude for this community and this supportive group of women. The amount of support, kindness, and safety I’ve found here has been incredible.

I have a question about the type of surgery I may be receiving for my fibroids. I was familiar with laparoscopic and open myomectomies, but I recently learned that my surgeon is considering a robotic-assisted myomectomy. I thought it was just another term for a laparoscopic myomectomy, but it seems to be a different surgical approach.

Has anyone here undergone a robotic myomectomy? If so, I would love to hear about your experience, recovery, fertility outcomes, and anything else you think would be helpful to know. Thank you ❤️

Starting a new job 3weeks after a planned Myomectomy. Is that enough healing or should I push my start date?

Hello ❤️
I landed a job the same time I got an appointment for my fibroid surgery. I basically start the new job exactly 3weeks after the surgery, and now I’m wondering if that’s enough time? It’s desk job but I guess healing would be both physical and mental. I would love to hear your experiences with that. Thank you

Lupron, before a fibroid surgery. Yes or No?

Hello everyone,

I’m 31, actively trying to conceive, and fertility is my absolute top priority. I have four fibroids, with the two largest measuring 6 cm (submucosal) and 9 cm (intramural).

I have consulted with two surgeons and received very different recommendations:

• One specializes in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and recommends 6 months of Lupron before surgery.
• The other is a reproductive endocrinologist and is comfortable proceeding with surgery in about 2 months without Lupron.

I’m scared of both options, to be honest. I’m worried that Lupron could delay my fertility journey or affect my hormones longer than expected, but I’m also worried that skipping it could lead to a more invasive surgery or a more difficult recovery.

For those who have been in a similar situation, what factors helped you make your decision? Did you use Lupron before surgery? Do you feel it helped? How was your fertility journey afterward?

I understand every case is different, but hearing others’ experiences has always been incredibly helpful to me.

Thank you so much ❤️

PUL and MTX with large uterine fibroid

Hi everyone,

First pregnancy here. I’m currently 8 weeks into a Pregnancy of Unknown Location that doctors are now treating as ectopic tomorrow with MTX.

The difficult part in my case is that I have two large fibroids:
8 cm intramural
6 cm submucosal

Because of them, every ultrasound has been extremely difficult to interpret. I’ve had 5 ultrasounds and radiologists consistently struggled to properly visualize inside my uterus. The only thing ever seen was a small “pseudo sac” (7 mm) that stayed unchanged for 2 weeks.

My HCG pattern has also been very abnormal:
500 → 900 → 600 → 1100 → 1400 → 1600 → 1900 → 2300 → 2500 → 1800 → 1950

I had bleeding, clots, cramps, and passed tissue, so I kept hoping this was an unresolved miscarriage rather than ectopic. But because nothing was ever clearly seen and my HCG kept fluctuating/slow rising, my doctors now strongly recommend MTX and advised against waiting longer.
What I’m struggling to find online is anyone with large fibroids causing this much ultrasound difficulty during a suspected ectopic/PUL.

Did anyone here have:
fibroids making ultrasounds nearly impossible to read?
a PUL/ectopic with large fibroids?
MTX while also having fibroids?

Also:
did MTX affect your fibroids at all?
were you able to conceive afterward?
Would really appreciate hearing similar experiences.

Hi everyone,

I’m around 5 weeks pregnant and started bleeding this morning. It happened in multiple episodes throughout the day : bright red and at times quite abundant, similar to a period. It would come and go rather than being constant.

I went to the hospital, they did bloodwork and scheduled an ultrasound in 2 days. In the meantime, I’m in that difficult waiting phase and feeling really anxious.

Has anyone experienced something similar this early on ; bleeding like a period but in episodes and how did it turn out for you?

I know everyone is different, but hearing real experiences would really help me right now 🤍

Thank you so much.
