Is this piece attached to window from or was it put in for drywall return?

Pointing to it with my 5 tool sharp side nearest drywall. Wanting to trim out windows rather use the drywall. Wanting to know if this is part of the window or a trim piece for the drywall

Lotta tension. I can’t even pull this door up manually.

I pulled emergency cord. The mechanism will move all the way front to back but will not catch and pull the actual door. Door goes up about 8 inches and labors after that.
