Excited couple, looking to purchase our first home and interested in this area of the central coast. My main priority is SAFETY, friendly peaceful neighbours! I am a female and I walk the dog early in the day.

We are mainly looking at Bateau Bay, Killarney Vale and surrounding suburbs. It’s around the middle point to where we both work.

Alternatively, our budget also can buy us around Wyoming, Lisarow and Narara, Ourimbah. We do not commute to Sydney, but go as a day trip once a week or so.

Would appreciate any advice about aforementioned suburbs, and if any residents can share about the general vibe of the area, best schools, best and worst aspects of the area!

I’m almost two years in this career. I see my peers focusing on training and taking courses for wisdom teeth extraction, implants and cosmetic dentistry.

I enjoy learning, and would love to earn more, but I don’t know if it’s worth the money to learn these skills, increased risks and stress e.g. causing permanent nerve damage, veneers popping out, implants failing. Does the stress go away after enough cases?

I don’t have anyone to mentor me at my clinic for these things, and I have considered moving clinics. However, I am very comfortable at my current clinic as everyone is nice, my pay is not bad, and I can take frequent holidays whenever I want. The clinic is also where I wouldn’t mind settling down long term and looking to buy a house soon. If I want to want to earn more + find mentorship I would probably have to relocate more rurally.

Any professional / life advice would be appreciated!

New Grad here.

I find that 50% of my SURGICAL extractions lead to dry socket after 4-5 days, even though I am providing detailed post op instructions and suturing afterwards with the gelatine sponge sealed in.

I am seeing conflicting management as whether or not to induce bleeding or not with dry socket.
I also read about marcaine blocks which was interesting.

I am giving LA, irrigating with saline and applying eugenol dressing. If there are loose flaps I will suture again.

I do my best not to be traumatic during the exo.

Berkeley Vale seems nicest because it’s by the coast but heard there is a flood risk. Springfield i heard is gentrifying, while Wyoming I haven’t heard much about.

East Gosford sounds great too but it’s a little more expensive it seems.
