Need more classes like this 30 minute G&L from Robin!

As someone who is decidedly NOT a lover of AMRAPs, struggles to engage with most G&L classes overall and generally not a fan of Robin's, man oh MAN did I love her 30 minute G&L from September 18th (thumbnail screenshot in the comments).

The programming is incredible - don't be scared off by the AMRAPs, because they're really not traditional AMRAPs at all.

There's a four minute warm-up then three total movements for the class - split squats, sumo squats and lateral lunges. Within each section, she gives you 7 minutes to accomplish three sets of 10 reps, ideally going up in weight with each set. You're in control of your rest time in between sets (she suggests 60-90 seconds between sets), and I'll say that 7 minutes was still plenty of time for me to get my sets done.

It's a *little* faster paced in the split squats and lateral lunge section because you're really doing 20 reps per set, 10 on the right and 10 on the left, but it's still very manageable.

And don't worry if it takes you the full 7 minutes to get your sets done - once the 7 minutes are up, she then has a 2 minute rest before moving on to the next circuit.

It's genuinely such a fantastic class. I've never taken anything like it on the platform and now I must know if there are other classes like this, whether from Robin or any other instructor.

I searched through her recent classes and found a few that look like they might fit the bill, but I'm hoping for any first-hand recommendations from people who have taken the classes so I don't accidentally wander into a true AMRAP and ruin my workout.

Thanks! And please go take that class if you haven't!

Here are the restaurants we have picked out thus far - what would you change?

Hi everyone!

This has been a fun subreddit to lurk in as I've been planning our first trip to London.

We're arriving in about a month and staying for 10 days.

We're both in our early 40s and honestly pretty open as far as food preferences. My husband absolutely adores Italian food, we both love Indian food and sushi, but honestly - there's really not much we absolutely dislike.

I've got a lot of our dinner restaurants booked - not all of them, yet, but a lot of them.

Would be curious to get your take on what we've got booked and if there's anything we should add or change.

We're staying at The Corinthia, if that helps to orient you as to where we'll be based.

Budget's fortunate enough to be fairly open too, though I'll admit that we're not really the type to enjoy a 10 course tasting menu in the name of fine dining. Despite what the restaurants below may lead you to believe, we also do love casual restaurants and pubs, too - so feel free to suggest those.

Anyway, onto the show - please let me know what you think.

Thank you in advance!

  • Gymkhana (this is one I probably am not open to changing, I've wanted to eat here for years)
  • Osteria Romana (before a show at the Royal Albert Hall)
  • Brigadiers (one of the few lunch places I've got booked thus far)
  • Bar reservation for drinks at Lucky Cat Bishopsgate for views (reviews of the food spooked me from wanting to eat here, but the view looks amazing)
  • Sushinoen
  • Claridge's Bar for drinks
  • Lilibet's Mayfair
  • EDIT: Forgot Blacklock Soho for Sunday roast!

How long did it take you to adjust to your GLP-1?

Hi everyone - potential newbie here who has been lurking this sub (and the other GLP subs, but honestly they scare me a bit...) for months now.

I'm getting close to just going for it and starting tirzepatide - have an appointment set up next week with my PCP to talk about it in depth, but I have a possibly dumb concern and I'd love some insight.

I'll spare you all the extensive autobiography on myself but there are three relevant bits to know about me prior to the meat of my post:

  • I kind of hate this term for how overused it is but there's not a better one, so... I'm a foodie. A food enthusiast. I am a damn good home chef who loves cooking from scratch most nights of the week, and I take a lot of pleasure in finding amazing local restaurants, both at home and when we travel.
  • My husband and I travel a lot. We don't have kids and we tend to spend the money we would've spent on college educations and etc for children on travel for ourselves. We're homebodies otherwise, and often joke that we don't leave the house unless it's to leave the country.
  • I would be using tirzepatide primarily for IWL.

So with that out of the way, here's the deal.

We're home for the next couple months, but then in October we are going on a nearly two week trip to Europe. It's a belated trip that we were going to take a couple years ago but family emergencies got in the way, and when I tell you we're going to do it up BIG - exactly that.

Lots of sightseeing, yes, but lots of amazing restaurants booked that I truly want to be able to savor.

(I feel like it is about here that the people on the other subs would start lecturing me about prioritizing my health and enjoying the experience, not just the food, but I feel hopefully certain you guys won't do that - hence why I'm here.)

I guess my question is - in your experience, would two months be enough time to adjust to the meds to have a shot (slight pun intended) of being able to go enjoy the full restaurant experiences we have planned? Or should I wait until I have a longer chunk of time at home to make sure I'm adjusted to the meds?

And aside from the food stuff, I also just want to make sure I'm feeling as well as possible generally. Travel always seems to mess my stomach up as it is, one way or another, so I keep kicking around whether or not I should wait until I have 3-4 consecutive months at home to get started - which won't be until early next year, unfortunately.

Any insights are appreciated, and I'm happy to answer any questions in the comments if you've got 'em.

Thank you!!

30-45 Minute Hypertrophy Lower Body Classes...

...to complement the two upper body days of Jess Sims' 3 day split.

The short version is that I think those two upper body days are two of the best upper body classes on the platform, but the lower body day just isn't for me. I can see that it's well programmed but I just don't care for it, and prefer to split out (no pun intended) my core and lower body into separate classes.

From late February - mid May, I did several weeks of my own split using those two upper body days + one day of core and lower body (separate classes). I saw AMAZING progress with my upper body, but my lower could've been better, not least because I couldn't really find a class that I loved enough to stick with week-over-week so it was just whatever caught my eye.

Come Monday, I plan to start this concept again for the next 8ish weeks, but this time I want to be a little more intentional about my lower body workout and hopefully find one I can stick with the whole time.

My go-to strength instructors are Callie, RK and Adrian, with an occasional sprinkling of the others. I don't care for Jess's normal programming outside the split - too much cardio for my taste - nor do I really like the classes of Tunde's I've taken. Her vibes and playlists are immaculate but the actual classes feel chaotic to me in terms of programming.

Any recommendations are welcome! Thanks!
