This healed something in me

This healed something in me

I was procrastinating on getting this done today… normally if I’m going to do an hour practice I like to be in my local hot yoga studio and meet up with a friend… but I love Denis and had nothing better to do so I thought I’d give it a try.
Man… I loved everything about this.
From the flow to the playlist… it was perfection. I really felt in the zone and it incorporated a good mix of things I don’t love and really need to work on (twisting poses and side lunges) and things I enjoy (single leg balancing, wheel pose, side plank.) I don’t like to repeat classes but I think I’m going to repeat this one every week.
Definitely a lot of Chaturangas but I think for an hour class that’s expected.

Aftermath of Robin’s all in challenge

Is anyone else feeling much stronger and confident after completing this challenge? I have found myself more willing to choose harder rides or increase my resistance more frequently than before. Going into the challenge I had never done a hiit and hills ride or a Robin yellow class despite having the bike for a few years as I believed I could not do it. I am now averaging 1 or 2 a week and am noticing a significant change in my power and strength. I even did a hiit and hills ride with Olivia in studio (highly recommend her energy is insane in person). This challenge has significantly helped me be more confident in my workout plan over the past month and am just wondering if anyone feels the same? I would also love if anyone has any class recommendations that were either not included in the challenge or by other instructors that I should try. For reference, I am a 21 year old female that loves pop music and am open to pretty much all of the instructors. Thank you!!

Love this class (all core)

I keep going back to this class when I want a core workout. There’s maybe 20 seconds of rest total. It’s so good!!! You can do it without the ball.

Streak Question

Today I finally took a road bike out for a spin and did a 30-mile ride. I’m pretty beat and would love to call it a day, but I also really don’t want to lose my Peloton streak.

I’ve read a bunch of horror stories about people losing streaks when activities are imported from Apple Health. The app seems to say it will count, but I’m not totally sure what Peloton means by “milestones.”

Does anyone have experience with this? Can I safely go to sleep, or do I need to do a quick 5-minute Peloton class just to be safe?

Well. The "Whoo-Whoos" finally got to me.

Took Camilla's interval class live today (5 July). It's a solid pyramid workout. I'm primarily a powerzone guy, but I enjoy Camilla's and Emma's music classes, and it's a bonus if I can turn them into a powerzone/max class. So this one was a lot of zone 5 work. Loved it. Great prep for my next FTP test. I even got a shout out at the end for my 500th cycling class. Sweet!

But, holy smokes, the whoo-whoos and the whistles made the class almost unbearable. Every time Camilla said anything there was a whistle or a whoo. It was obnoxious. If the class was taken the way she designed it no one should have the breath for that. It's like people showed up for a concert, not a workout. Sadness.

Here's the class.

an all-time great lower body stretch

I took this live and can't wait to bookmark it once it's available. I always love Mariana, but this is an all-time favorite. Don't get thrown by the categorization if you're not into yoga--this hits all the lower-body spots, with a special emphasis on the hips. Really solid from start to finish.

1 mile PR

Huge shoutout to Peloton for helping me become more speedy! I own a bike and I am a die hard cycling 🚴🏽‍♀️ gal but wanted to broaden my horizon a tad. Never loved running. Just wanted to get good at running fast. I already have a really good aerobic base so for me it was the Matter of getting my connective tissue to adapt to the impact of running. Started with “call yourself a runner“ program and right after jumped to 20min HIIT classes- I love high intensity way too much 🤪 So once a week I do HIIT run(just started doing it with incline) and once a week my husband and I go to the track to do sprints(30-100m). I do not want to run long distances, I only want to go hard and fast 😊 Will be working towards 7:30 mile now. If you have any class recommendations please share them with me. Thank you for reading and happy training!

I like Greta, but this class was terrible

It was just chaotic. She talks NONSTOP but the descriptions of movements didn’t make much sense to me. Her feral Fridays are so hit or miss for me. Some are really great, but this one I started doing my own thing. I find her so inconsistent. Anyone else?

In a constantly changing world, you gotta love that Olivia remains the Queen of Chais

Recently took a Rolling Hills ride. Only Olivia can make a pretty simple ride structure chaotic. 2.5M flat turns into 30 second intervals in and out of the saddle. At some point we were at 50R and 100C. The usual 'Olivianess'. I like Olivia and am not bashing her. Just stating if you like Chaos and Justin /Ariana on every ride, she is for you.

To those who work 12 hour shifts, what is your weekly workout schedule like?

I work 3 12-hour shifts a week. My shifts are very active, running around all day, and I average 12-17k steps. When i get home, I'm toast, and there is absolutely zero chance of me hopping on the peloton.

I've had my peloton bike for about a year and a half, and have been using it on my days off, about 4 times a week. I love it SO much. But, i've recently decided that it's time I incorporate strength training back into my routine. I was thinking of doing 3 days bike, 1 day total body strength (peloton videos) at least to start. I did have to get a gym membership, since I don't have any weights and don't have the space for them. I have to get used to driving to/from the gym and working out in public again🥲

So, looking for any suggestions on how best to split my week up. Would love to hear how others do it based on a 4 day workout schedule.

45 Min Summer Blast

Anyone take the 45 minute summer blast workout? I looked over the class plan and three 10 min AMRAPs with 3 moves each sounds daunting and repetitive. Do the multiple instructors make time go by quicker? Do they make it fun?
My only workout time is when my toddler naps so I don’t want to waste it. Thanks in advance! Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸🎆

Strength program recommendations

Hello!! I am looking to do a strength program. I get overwhelmed by the choices. I also get bored of repeating the same class week after week. Has anyone tried the Pump up the Volume collections? Andy’s program?? That one looks like different classes every week. Or are the repeated splits the best way to go?

Is the tread a decent buy?

I’ve had a OG bike since 2021 and love it and the classes. I want to find a used bike+ on marketplace because the accuracy of the power meter and the better seat adjustment.

Besides that, we had a sole treadmill (f63) at our old house and I’d use an iPad to do peloton classes. For classes that were doing interval training, my sole was way to slow to keep up. Like if Olivia did a 15 second sprint, I’d only be sprinting for maybe 3-5 seconds before slowing down again. Plus the iPad was such a small screen it was hard to see much.

We just moved and I sold the sole. I’m thinking of getting a tread (the tread+ is just way too much money).

Is the tread quick to adapt to changes for interval classes? Also, is it reliable? My bike has had no issues (save the seat post Allen bolt slipping), and my sole treadmill needed the belt replaced after minimal usage.

Chaotic

I really, really want to love Tunde for strength because, well, look at her. But the strength portion of this class is just chaos.

Three AMRAPS, a different set of moves in every one and the cues are non-existent. I missed the first move of the last AMRAP because she was dancing about and I didn't realise we'd started until she did about eight seconds of the move before shifting to the next one. It's extra annoying because you just know she didn't get that physique doing one set of eight overhead extensions and then moving on.

I love Tunde on the bike (maybe having the bike+ helps because missed cues aren't so bad when you can just tap it into the midpoint and forget it). But I've tried a few strength classes now and they are so all over the place.

Back to Ben for me.

I freaking love Peloton

So many bookmarked classes with amazing playlists or class plans, running content that has helped me run indoors and outdoors and feel like such a bad@$$, awesome instructors who keep me entertained and motivated, HiLit+ starting soon, Mariana’s Run + Flow calling my name, etc etc etc! So thankful for this platform and for the FOMO on all of the content!

SOCKS RECS FOR BIKE RIDES

Sorry for the caps BUT, I need sock recs. I ride mt bike often and all my socks with cushion get run down quick.

I typically get Aritzia socks (i know it's not "workout" socks but i love the cushion) and Nike but I'm curious what else everyone is wearing.

Someone recommended Bombas but I can't justify paying $50 for 4 socks

Power zone endurance class by Jess King

Hi! I was scrolling the schedule and I just saw that Jess KIng has a power zone class schedule for July 16! I don’t take her classes but I am curious to take this! I didn’t see an announcement from Peloton adding Jess to the power zone instructors but maybe I missed it… do you guys know more??
