115 Deg Temperature - July 11 weekend

Was planning for a 3 day Grand Canyon / Page trip but just saw the heat dome is now there.

Would it still be worth going or safer to just cancel?

Anyone been there during high temps and what's your take on it?

115 Temperature July 10 week - Cancel Trip?

Would it still be enjoyable for a 7 day visit (2 adults 2 kids 8 and 12)? Was planning to walk strip, sit by pool all day but all of a sudden this does not sound fun in 110deg Temp.

On top of that, two 2 days was for Grand Canyon which don't think we can even walk around anymore in this heat.

Anyone been there during high temps and what's your take on it?

Do Point Loads need columns (and footings) underneath them?

Rookie Questions:

  1. Do Point Loads need columns (and footings) underneath them? Have my drawing from the Structural engineer and just looking for confirmation the cantilever beams deflect the load thus no columns needed.

  2. Also are the cantilever beams wood or steel (drawings does not show what it is)?

Ontario - Do homes in GTA require rebar in footings?

Doing an extension on a Bungalow and have story addition in GTA.

The footing and forming is ready but there is no rebars. The structural engineer does not call for rebar. Do GTA homes typically call for rebar (10M or 15M)? Soil is 100 kPa (SLS), 300 kPa.

2nd Floor Home Addition - Existing 1st floor Wall Condition

Is the existing 1st floor wall (shown in pic) ok to build a new 2nd floor on?

We plan to epoxy the hairline cracks, mesh cement the entire wall + make the top bricks step down patterns evenly and add the new bricks on top.

Anyone with experience doing a similar addition Reno?
