When it comes to learning, where do i begin?

I apologise in advance if this has been asked before.

I've been casually hobby-shooting video and photo for years now but I want to move on from the basic colour corrections and LUTS and presets.

Where would you recommend i start if i want to really learn about colour grading/editing/whatever?

Not just the editing tools of Davinci and Lightroom/photoshop etc, but the fundamentals and the understanding of it all?

Are there classes you'd recommend, or guides, or youtube playlists, or books?
I'm really open to anything, but I'd like to form a series of steps to take to learn more.

No problem if this isn't a very clear question or discussion and needs to be deleted.

Cheers!

Just finished season 1

The actors for the brothers, Ali and Mousa, were absolutely incredible.

It was hard not to feel sad for their loss of innocence through tragedy and racial vilification, then angry at what they had done later on.

Perfectly portrayed, real stand outs for me.

This show does something most have not, which is show each side fairly. Are the rest of the seasons just as good?

Feedback on 1st wedding video, what do you think?

I'm a bit of a hobby photographer/filmmaker, and I've found myself with more free time throughout the year thanks to my new job, so I'm considering maybe trying to get into more of this.

I shot this for free a couple of years ago for some family friends and I'm just wondering if you think it's any good and worth pursuing?

I'd been asked to do something similar multiple times for other people but always turned it down due to lack of confidence.

I tried to edit/shoot with a consistent flow, going from vows/clips of bride and then over to the groom.

Anyways, curious to hear what you think :)

Giant Papillary Conjunctivitis

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone else here has had experience with GPC (small bumps not huge ones) and what their solution was or how they went on with wearing contacts?

I had a small spell of it in my left eye around 4-5 weeks ago, eye felt very dry one afternoon after taking my contacts out, and then had the feeling of something constantly in my eye under my top eyelid for days, as well as sensitivity. I didn't wear contacts for that time and it went away over the weekend.

Now I've had it again, same left eye. I've gone to my optometrist who's suggested i wear glasses for two weeks and go from monthlies to fortnightlies or dailies after my 2 week check-up. He's also ordered me some testers.

So anyone else had something similar go on with their eyes/contacts? Was there a solution?

Butchers Block/Desk help

Hey legends,

Only just stumbled on this sub now, guess there's one for everything 😂

The mrs and i just bought our first place and will be moving in shortly.

I plan on building a gaming desk from drawers and a butchers block or something like it, and I'm wondering what you'd suggest?

It's a 3.1x3.0 room, and i need the desk to be long enough to fit my setup, and my girlfriends setup alongside the wall where the door opens.

My setup includes a gaming pc and a 45 inch monitor, hers is just a 27.5 inch imac and keyboard.

I also don't want it to come out too far because there is built-in robes on the opposite wall, and we'd like a small lounge on the back wall between the two.

Any recommendations? Do they size them if you need?

In Australia if that changes anything. Will send progress updates for anyone interested.
