Share your thoughts on the post title rule
I wanted to make a post about the title format rule, partly because I've had to remove a number of posts that didn't follow it and I think it would be helpful to explain why the rule exists and to get feedback.
The current rule is that every post title must include:
- your age
- your gender and the gender you're seeking
- your location
- a short description
Example: 30 [F4M] Los Angeles, California - Seeking a genuine connection
- Age should be listed at the start of the title.
- Gender/seeking should be abbreviated and placed in square brackets.
- Location should include a city (or nearest major city) and state/province or country.
- "Online", "anywhere", and other vague locations are not accepted.
The biggest reason for this rule is to keep posts clear, consistent, and easy to search.
Some people browse by scrolling, but others search for what they're looking for. For example, if someone searches "F4M", a title using "30F" instead will likely not show up. If someone searches "Los Angeles", a title that only says "USA" or "online" will also not likely show up.
So this rule isn't just about formatting, it's also there to improve discoverability and make it easier for people to find more local, IRL connections.
If you've had a post removed because of this rule, or if you have any thoughts or questions about it, please feel free to comment and share them below.
