Stud earring recommendations / how to tell if it's a good deal or a scam?

I would like to get a pair of moissanite stud earrings in solid gold (likely 14k) as an upgrade from the gold-plated CZ I've worn near-continuously for the past 5 years, as the plating is now wearing off.

My main problem is that I don't know how to tell what's a good deal vs a scam that's too good to be true! For example, I see AEAW and Kuololit recommended on here, but when AEAW has earrings listed as solid 14k for only ~$60, but Kuololit is $200+, I'd like to go cheaper obviously if it's a similar product, but I'm just concerned about what such a big price difference might mean?

I would also appreciate any recommendations! What I'm looking for:

- 1 to 2 ct total (0.5-1 ct per earring)

- solid yellow gold/hypoallergenic (I put these together because usually 14K doesn't bother me but I do often react to cheaper metals)

- bezel setting would be nice

- screw back or other secure back would be nice

First time buying - help with check?

Hello! This is my first time buying overseas and I was hoping to get a sanity check before I approve the shipment. The ring looks good to me, but also it's not a very detailed video. Should I be asking for anything else or is this good?

The ring is from CaratBee, an oval cut bypass/semi-bezel, 1.5ct and 2 mm band.

Help arranging and furnishing walkout basement room?

Our new house has an oddly shaped family room in the walkout basement that I need to furnish, and I'm having trouble visualizing how to lay it out.

It is 29 ft 6 in long north to south, with a width of 15 ft 6 in at the south end and 11 ft 4 in at the north. So, it's basically two rectangles together, one 11 ft 4 in x 18 ft 6 in and the other 15 ft 6 in x 11 ft. I drew it to scale as best I could, one line on the ruled paper (1/4 inch) is 1 ft in reality.

But it's extra tricky because there are so many things breaking up the walls: shelves, drawers, 2 windows, and 4 doors!

What we want in this space:

  1. A TV area, preferably with a sectional couch (haven't bought this yet so flexible on size)

  2. A desk for study/gaming (already have)

  3. Exercise space, I already have a stationary bike and walking pad (in photos) plus was offered a weight machine by family if there's room

  4. A 10-20 gallon fish tank or two

All these things would physically fit, but I'm really having a hard time laying it out in this space! I would really appreciate help brainstorming.

TLDR: experiences with longevity of this ring type? Any advice on specific designs that hold up to daily wear?

I had my eye on something like the Moissanite Co ring "Semi-Bezel Round Brilliant Moissanite Bypass Solitaire" (pic 1) for quite a while. I'm really looking for a similar setting, but I'm not set on the stone shape; for example I saw one with an oval stone that looked nice too (pic 2). So, in January I ordered this one from Kuololit (pic 3). I got the gold-plated (cheap) version so I could see what it looked like in person before investing too much in it.

I loved how the Kuololit ring looked in person! Unfortunately, though, it doesn't seem to hold up for daily wear: a few weeks ago the stone started coming loose in the setting and rocking back and forth.

So, that leads to my dilemma. I love this ring style even more now that I've seen it in person, and so I want to invest in one in real gold for daily wear. However, I'm now worried that the design itself might not be durable enough for that.

Does anyone have experience with these rings, or other similar designs, that have stood up well over time? Are there designs with this "look" that are more durable than others?

Location: Midwest USA

We just bought a house on 1/3 acre, and I'm very excited to start growing things. There's one section that I'm looking for advice on, though: a steeply sloped strip about 8 ft x 80 ft that is the border between our yard and a park. There is currently mowed lawn on either side of it (ours and the playground) but that strip is brush and weeds. I think neither the previous owner nor the city maintained it, leading to its current state. I did ask a friend who worked for the city and they said the city does own it, but doesn't care about it or maintain it, and he at least says I can do what I want with it as long as it's not too noticeable.

The largest plants there are honeysuckles, but there's a lot of weed and/or invasive undergrowth: poison ivy, thistles, garlic mustard, bristly green briar, burdock, etc.

My dilemma is, because the city owns it, I don't want to put much money or a huge amount of effort into it. But at the same time, the city isn't maintaining it at all, it's full of weedy and invasive plants I don't want spreading, and it's a reasonably sized space that if I'm going to be maintaining I would like to make productive in some way, whether providing native habitat, food, beauty, something at least. I do think the bigger plants (honeysuckle) need to stay since they're the boundary around the city's park, but I think I can work on changing the undergrowth. I've been pulling up garlic mustard and briars today, and I know if I don't put something else in the loose dirt I'm just giving more weed seeds an opportunity.

So, any advice on how to go about this? Any ideas for vigorous (and preferably cheap) plants I could try to add or encourage?
