Unsuccessful popcorn attempts with the microwave
I've tried making popcorn in my microwave several times. The corn kernels are not expired.
On the highest setting (800 watts), 3 minutes 30 seconds are popping very very few kernels but if I go beyond that, it usually burns.
On a medium setting of around 500-600 watts, I try to listen to the first few pop and then go up to the highest heat for 2+ to 3 minutes. The yield still is pretty low and going higher, I usually burn the popcorn.
Another time I put on medium heat for 10 minutes and ended up melting the plastic cover...
What is the way to go?
