I might not hate Janet anymore after this episode...

It was so hard watching last night's episode because it's clear Janet is alluding to some past trauma of her own. It seems like most people on Team Danny knows about it, or at least I hope not because it would be cruel for them to know why she was so triggered by Danny and still be this harsh on her.

I dislike Janet based on other situations, and she can be annoying sometimes, but I think I'm fully on her side with this. I'm over the "SA" storyline with Danny and she doesn't need to apologize anymore. The Bookos need to get the fuck over it. If anything, them holding a grudge against Janet is making it even more of a topic of conversation.

I hope she explains herself more on the reunion but tbh she doesn't need to. The audience, and hopefully the cast after last night, knows what she was going through now. I also can appreciate her brining up Danny's actions because I hated watching how horrible the men treated the women in VPR, and the women even backing them up half the time, and I REALLY don't want to watch another show like that.

One caveat though: I still think everyone needs to either band together and talk to Danny OR leave it alone. They're so focused on his drinking that they're ignoring his horrible behavior. I've completely changed my opinion on him this season so I'm not defending him, but I do understand why he feels ganged up on. Jax had a plan to take him down and other people knew, and some of his castmates (Jesse) have one horrible things too.

Finally found a medication that takes my urges away! First time in a decade I'm not anxious over pulling.

There have been a few posts about this in the sub, but they don't have a lot of attention so I wanted to share.

I have been taking lamotrigine (also called lamictal) for almost a month now and it's been a LIFESAVER. I have treatment-resistant anxiety, CTPSD, am constantly in freeze mode, etc. I have tried everything but the last few months I've discovered this medication and the power of ice packs for controlling urges and my anxiety. The ice was helping with pulling urges (and I still use for anxiety in general), but I've had almost no urges since using this medication.

It's a drug for epilepsy, but is commonly used for bipolar disorder as well. It's important to note that there can be serious side effects (mainly at higher doses) but I had none on the lowest dose of 25mg. I recently went up in dose and am experiencing some symptoms that aren't fun but I think I'll go back down to 25mg since I had the same effect at that dose (check out my profile to see a recent post I made on this experience).

It's not for everyone, but if you've been struggling for a long time (a decade now for me) and nothing else has worked then I'd give it a try.

Here are some things you need to know if you do want to try:

  • you must start slow, so don't start at any dose expect 25mg and wait at least two weeks before going up
  • watch out for a skin rash, which can become serious and life-threatening (this is a rare side effect)
  • be careful in the sun!!! everyone reacts differently but I got sunburn after two hours in the sun wearing sunscreen — I've since been more careful reapplying and find shade when possible, and haven't had it happen again even taking hour long walks

Anyone on 25mg long-term? I'm having extreme itchiness at 50mg.

I was prescribed 25mg almost a month ago for trichotillomania and treatment-resistant anxiety. The first two weeks were great. Very little urges, less time in freeze mode, and I didn't notice any withdrawal symptoms from Pristiq (which I stopped because it was making me gain weight after a year). After two weeks I upped my does to 50mg. Now it's 1.5 weeks later and I'm on day four of EXTREMELY itchy skin. Everywhere.

I did go to urgent care just to make sure it's not SJS, so it's probably just my body getting used to it. I know this can pass after a few weeks but I'm wondering if I even need to go up to 50mg. The plan was to get back on Wellbutrin if needed once I saw on this medication helped me (I stopped this months ago after a lot of success for my motivation/energy but was concerned it was causing weight gain - I now know it was the Pristiq).

Anyway, I'm wondering if I should stay at 25mg and see if the itchiness goes away, and start the Wellbutrin if needed. I've read other posts about people having success at 25mg but has anyone been at this does long term?

Side note: Do y'all drink on this med? I don't drink to excess but it can't be a coincidence that since I've start it, any time I drink I feel horrible a few hours later. I'm talking just three beers and I'm in bed at night feeling nauseous with a terrible migraine.
