Shokolad Pastry & Cafe is sooo good
I used to live across the street from there and didn’t go as much as I should. I’ve never had borshch. So I figured I’d go there, because all their food is solid. Borshch is my new favorite soup. I’ve never in my life liked beets, but this soup is fire. Chill atmosphere, awesome staff. Check it out.
I watched clips of movies that I own on DVD with a player…
I caught a heavy wave of my 20s nostalgia. Will Ferrell films, Step Brothers, Talladega nights, anchorman. Instead of playing the dvds on my DVD player, I just streamed scenes on YouTube. I don’t know if I’m changing with the times or losing something golden I used to have. I’ll be 40 this year. I remember seeing the films in theater and probably the last time I sincerely belly laughed. With my friends beating the line for anchorman when I was 19(we told the line we were seeing white chicks the just walked in) the other two I saw with an ex, an she had so much fun I had fun and we ended up getting back together for awhile. But now I don’t even have the energy to pop in the dvd and watch the film. Just laying here looking at stupid half clips on YouTube.
R/steak folks for the win!
I reverse seared this cut of beef with the advice you folks gave me. Not an ideal cut but a good test steak. It still tastes good too. Thank you for the advice, I’m planning on getting a meat thermometer soon. What do you guys think?
Personal space
First time she did this, she usually just comes in to check on me. I was getting my mom’s mail while she’s out of town. Typically my mom and her dog is there, so maybe Pebbles was worried nobody was there. It was the first home she was introduced to after I rescued her, and he do visit and spend the night… but still kinda odd.
I don’t know how to sear.
It was frozen but thawed on the car ride home because it’s a heat wave and my car doesn’t have working ac. I planned on searing it in my cast iron then baking it. But after a min on both sides on the stove it was where I wanted it to be. I was going to oven broil it but hit it with a torch instead. Then made half of it into a sandwich with A1 and provolone. I use butter not olive oil. Taste good, but I can never really get that dark outter color. Should I be cooking it with red wine?
Where can I find a meat pie?
Looking for a UK or Australian style beef/chicken pie without going to the loop.
I get it now. Resting as an adult.
Im going to be 40 this year. Im a fairly active guy, no kids, one dog. Im in a recreational rugby club and am a contractor, mainly painting and junk removal. So my work is physical. Growing up, my friend's union and blue collar dads would always be in their bedrooms sleeping or resting on weekends. It was always a "hey keep it down my dad is sleeping."
For a few years i worked in a coating plant. It was coating and moving industrial size pipes and rebar. Swing shift, so i was sleeping if i wasnt eating or time with my dog. In my 20s i worked a lot of physically demanding jobs. Was in the painters union for a while, i also made and installed signs most my life. But then i could do that, go out with friends get little sleep and still get at it with little rest.
Now that im getting older, i totally understand needing a day to just lay and recuperate. Also, getting a full nights rest. I have no idea how people with kids do it. How do people with families just not just die of exhaustion?
Burrito no. 5
So this is my 5th homemade burrito. Showing how i do em. Any tips or advice would be appreciated. I swear a lil in the video so if at work. Watch on mute.
Homemade burrito no.4 steak
Starting to get better at it. White rice, black beans, skirt steak(shoulda done carne asada), guacamole, chihuahua cheese, lettuce, sour cream.
I need to make verde salsa, my burritos are filling but pretty bland. Adobo is ok but gets salty if you use too much. Open to suggestions.
Homemade burrito no.3
Eggs, chicken, guacamole, eggs, black beans, white rice, lettuce, and Chihuahua cheese.
Edit: and sour cream!
