Vancouver hotel after cruise

We are sailing on Solstice to Alaska out of Vancouver. Any recommendations on a hotel for one night near the port after we are done. I don’t want to break the bank, but would like something convenient.

Thoughts?

Ilford Film vs. Kentmere?

For Black and White I’ve been mostly shooting Ilford HP5 in 120.

Anybody have an opinion if it is worth the $3.50 more per roll then it’s Harmon cousin Kentmere 400? Not to mention Ilford’s Delta 400 at $5.50 more per roll.

Kentmere Developer?

I just received an email from Harmon about their new Kentmere line of film and paper developing chemistry.

Has anyone used it yet? It’s liquid concentrate with a long shelf life and seems to be a few bucks less expensive than Ilford and Kodak. Wondering if it’s just repackaged Ilford.

Alternative to Negative Lab Pro?

I'm doing all my scans using an Epson V600, and though fairly happy with the result, it is slow and I'm thinking of switching over to a DSLR. I know you have to transform the negative image to positive. It seems like NLP is the gold standard, but as a passionate hobbist, I don't want to support the Adobe universe unless I'm earning a living shooting film. (I probably never will.)

Is there an alternative software that works without Lightroom / Photoshop editing platform?

HP5 Developer?

Looking for recommendations when my stock supply of Kodak Xtol hits the recommended 6 month expiration date. I'm diluting it 1:1 and probably only shooting 2 or 3 rolls of 120 per month, so the 5 liter supply will likely go bad before I use it up.

Any thoughts? I'm mostly shooting Ilford HP-5, usually at box speed.

Underdevelopment of film, or underexposure?

I am troubled by development of B&W film having my negatives looking "Thin", not enough dark areas. The scans are also looking somewhat cloudy. I thought it was my exposure, but I'm noticing that the edge numbers are very faint.

I'm using the times and temperatures from Massive Dev chart, but they seem off. Could my issue also be insufficient fixer time? Or maybe weak or old fixer? Not sure what is wrong.

Minolta light meter dome

I lost the dome for my Minolta Auto Meter IVF. Anybody have an I idea where to find one? All of the usual suspects are out of stock or no longer available. I can buy a used meter "Not Working / Parts only", but I'd rather not spend $50 for a dead meter and little light dome. Suggestions?

Polaroid Film for Hasselblad

I have a couple of Polaroid backs for my 500CM that were given to me. Fun, but the cost of an expired Fuji 100 film pack is insane. Anybody know if the rumors that somebody is thinking of producing them again are true?

Hasselblad VPan

I'm interested in having one of my A-12 backs modified to an A-27 wide format. I know there is a person in China who does this, but does anyone know of a source in the United States or even Europe?
