Feeling done with the malarkey of archives/libraries/special collections etc and am widening job search to include other industries

Currently in a contract role at an R1 as a processor doing item/sub-item processing on 10,000 documents with a team of just 2 people. The work is clearly at least a 2 year project but have been told every 2-3 months (”we aren’t sure there’s enough work…the project might not continue”🤣🤣 magically, it’s continued for the last year at the last moment funding materializes! 🙄🙄🙄🤣). I can’t take it anymore though. Underpaid—making half of what I should be making while leading a team and supervising someone who insists they know more than me despite having far less experience! I have enough experience to be a director yet I am in temporary role yet again! I haven’t totally given up on libraries and archives but this week for the first time in six years in the biz I also applied to various document specialist roles in other industries ( landsmen, title examiner, title researcher, office coordinator/ assistant etc etc) anything with a steady and permanent salary. The industry has given me awesome transferable skills and hopefully something comes of it

when did minding our own business go out of style? 🤣🤣🤣it seems today that many who lean on the normie side of things (ie vanilla sex, monogamous, cisgender, often younger etc. ) feel the need to have a say in things that dont concern them examples include kink at pride; existence of poly people; trans people on grindr; people who like cruising vs relationships? etc etc

i wish we could just mind our own business lol DIFFERENT PEOPLE DO THINGS DIFFERENTLY —-and that’s ok! ❤️❤️❤️if someone does something you wouldnt do as long as no one is being physically or mentally abused and the participants are consenting adults why do you concern yourself with how someone else lives their life? NOT EVERYTHING IS FOR YOU— and that’s ok and that’s life! it takes nothing to be kind! you dont have to participate in something you dont like but to pearlclutch at people who dance in clubs, drink alcohol, enjoy kink etc. etc. is such a buzzkill. please just mind your own business if it doesnt concern you!
