Need a small footprint - looking at Ikarao and Seratone

First off I live in a small NYC apartment and we don't have much space. I used to love to do private room karaoke but with a child it's harder to go out so changed to a home set up plan. I have the FIFINE mics recommended here and had been using them through a bass amp, not great, I know, but don't have room for more equipment and already had the amp for my bass. I see some recommendations for Ikarao portable machines and now I see Seratone is available for sale and neither would take up too much space. I currently have a Sonos system for my home theater, all older pieces, a playbar, play:1 and one's connected to an older tv as well. Would the new Seratone make more sense or the Ikarao? I want something that will last a while and not take up much space, originally I did buy a Pyle PA speaker recommended here at some point but something was wrong with it plus i realized I didn't have space for it and I sent it back. Ideally looking to keep it around $300. Thank you.

Anyone in LA going to (or want to go to ) the July 28 game?

I happen to be in LA for a bit and just realized we play the Sparks while I’m here. My partner doesn’t want to go to the game and I’m seeing another Sparks game with a friend as someone gave her free tickets so she doesn’t want to pay for another game. I’m working through my small LA friend list to join for the game but would love to go with another Liberty fan. If anyone has an extra ticket or wants to sit together lmk! So glad I brought some Liberty gear here with me.

My experience: KAP vs at home troches/RDT

I started taking ketamine via prescription from a local doctor a few years ago. I started very low at 75mg RDT and worked up to 125mg over about a year. It started as a nightly treatment to help with anxiety, depression and sleep and it helped greatly but I felt like I was starting to have bladder issues, so I completely stopped. However, during the time on ketamine I was able to get off one long time antidepressant (I'm still on the other) and some of my extreme phobias lessened to the point of not needing xanax for a flight for the first time in decades.

My sessions at home were always done at night, laying in my bed with my partner and dog next to me. I often listened to white noise, the sound of the ac or a fan or occasionally music. 95% of the time I had auditory illusions or hallucinations, my experiences were almost always in a dark alternate universe and I never saw myself in them, but somehow this process allowed some big changes in me. There were times I didn't feel much during the experience or after, but I always felt good in my body the next day.

Around 9 months later I felt some of the anxieties coming back stronger and since I still had a lot of ketamine left I started taking it here and there and in the day or two after taking it I always felt calmer and more clear headed. This lead me to finally seek out going to therapy again after a decade without and in the process also found a separate KAP therapist. I recently started therapy and taking at home ketamine again, usually around twice a week starting at 150mg. I've tried RDT and troches this time from different pharmacies (the RDT from the pharmacy I used in years past) and haven't had the same experiences so far. I mostly have the auditory illusions but most of the rest of the experience I don't see or feel much, but will be trying a higher dosage to see what happens. I do feel a bit calmer the day after and more mindful, but anxieties are still high.

Last night I had my first in person KAP session and I was both excited and nervous about it, excited to try something new to try to breakthrough in ways I cannot alone at home, but nervous to not be in my home and have those comforts around me. I did take zofran for the first time for a treatment since I was a little concerned about the getting home part and I know that shouldn't have affected anything, but I wonder. The pre-ketamine part was great, with talking to someone, setting a bit of an intention, making some art and getting comfortable on the couch. I enjoyed the music the therapist played however I had no auditory illusions or hallucinations and not even much visualization despite an extra 75mg booster. Besides feeling dizzy and feeling like I had no body I was a bit disappointed in how the ketamine hit me. After become more alert and finding my body again I talked with the therapist a little about what I saw and how it felt different and not as deep as it does at home. She recommended a higher dose next time we do a session, which I agree with for both home and KAP use.

My body in general is sensitive, I'm prone to migraines and motion sickness and long-term nausea after surgery. As I mentioned, at home I've only taken ketamine in bed at night and went to sleep soon after. With KAP you obviously have to get up and leave and despite being able to walk and be functional, internally I felt awful and just wanted to get back home to bed. I don't know if the zofran helped or made it worse, but I can't imagine feeling any worse after the experience. I left the building and immediately called a car and headed home with the windows down for the 30+ minute ride. I walked in my door and couldn't even talk to my partner and laid down in bed with an ice pack on my head and slept hard for the next 3+ hours. I woke up at 1am still feeling awful, but extremely hungry, had a snack and water and went back to sleep. 7am I awoke again still feeling bad, but not quite as bad as the night before, I've still needed to be laying down for the following 3 hours, and now over 12 hours from leaving the office, I'm just starting to feel better.

I would love to do in person KAP again, but I don't think I can do it. The provider offers in person sessions, but if the cost is the same I'm not sure it's something I would do, even though I really think having KAP in addition to just taking ketamine would really help me, but with a job and a family I can't be losing so much time, and my body really hates me right now.

Is anyone else feeling this out of it after a session, I know many folks take it in the morning or earlier in the evening and still function after, but it seems like this is not something my body is going to be able to do. That said, if you have the opportunity to try KAP I think it is really helpful to have someone with you through the whole experience who is asking you deep questions about how you feel and what you are experiencing.

Are folks still like Valor? If not Pharmacy recs...

As far as pharmacies that are still offering ketamine from going through old posts people seem to like Valor a lot for cost, but mixed feedback about quality. If you've gotten anything from Valor recently would love feedback on quality & cost. If you have another great pharmacy would love to hear that too. About to go for a refill and don't want to use the same pharmacy the provider sent it to last time and the pharmacy I used years ago is on the higher side, but has always made quality products. I'm would prefer RDT over troches though, but still interested in any cost/quality info. Thanks!

Product advice for 49 yo skin to catch the last bit of holiday sales

I’m 49 and beyond acne scars from my teens I haven’t cared much about skin until the past couple of years. With the Memorial day sales, any recommendations on anything that would truly help? I have tazorac that I use twice a week, I’ve used some form of retin a for decades and I also use some cheap HA or corsrx 6 peptide serum, but that is really it and I really need to up my game. Any great deals on something that will really help?

For the scars I’ve had subscision, a tiny bit of tca cross, genius rf microneedling, lasemd and a little bit of radiesse. I’m sure it’s helped but now that my skin is starting to droop and loose elasticity everything just looks worse with wrinkles starting to form as well. I would do more microneedling, tca cross and subcision, possibly with fillers again. Would any of this help with the rest of my face too, or anything else somewhat non-invasive and semi-affordable to do now? Thanks!

Does everyone listen to music?

In the past I listened to the ambient sound, often the sound of the fan in my room to help me relax and I almost always had an huge sound distortion or disconnect. The sound changing was usually my first sign things were kicking in since I either have on a mask or closed eyes. More recently I’ve tried listening to music links folks have posted as well as a friend’s music that is sans lyrics and seemed a bit similar to the playlist tunes - Hologram Teen. Whenever I listen to music I don’t hear the distortion as much, it feels like a very different experience. Is anyone else similar? I’m not sure what the music does to change my experience, but I think I prefer ambient room noise. I’m going to try next with familiar mellow music and see that experience . Music is extremely important to me in general so I’m shocked how I respond to it in this state.

Has anyone gotten a prescription of half rdt and half troches?

Has anyone gotten a prescription of half rdt and half troches? I know each batch is different but i want to compare the same dosage of each from the same pharmacy and not wait a month between prescriptions. I know my provider would do this, I don’t know if pharmacy will.

I recently got troches after previously using rdt and the experience with troches was smoother but I feel like the rdt’s gave me a better experience. I know both help, but really want to compare the same dosage from the same pharmacy a couple of days apart.

Trying to gear up for KAP and want to have the best experience as it’s not something I’ll be able to afford to do all too often.

Spreadsheet of costs

Looks like my other post was deleted, I didn't know reddit doesn't like forms. To circumvent this, you can see the costs on this sheet and each tab header has a link for the survey to input your own data to populate the sheet. See results

Prescription cost spreadsheet, any interest?

Would folks be interested in a spreadsheet for the costs for prescriptions? I've emailed a few places in the last few days and the costs seem a bit all over the place. Folks could fill out a google form for submissions that would populate a spreadsheet and I could link both here. Columns would include vendor, link, type (rdt/troches/nasal), dosage amount, number of rdt/troches, cost, additional delivery costs if any, rating of the quality, date of order (as I know prices fluctuate), will also leave a field for notes (could add what states they ship to if you know, shipping time, etc). Open to additional fields needing to be added. It would just be nice to have things in one place rather than digging through post after post or emailing/calling dozens of places by having a somewhat general idea of recent price points.

RDT vs Troches personal experiences

I just started up ketamine again yesterday after a couple of years without a prescription for RDT (which the previous pharmacy called troches) and with new pharmacy I actually got troches this time. My dosage is starting at 150 compared to leaving off at 125 with the RDT (started at 75 I think). With the RDT I almost always had some disassociation but the one troche I tried was a much more mellow experience and was unexpected. I kept it in my mouth for about the same amount of time (25 or so minutes) and then spit. I know batches can differ, and I will try another troche tomorrow night to test again. Has anyone else experienced such a difference between troches and RDT? I’m wondering if it’s the same mellow experience if I should contact the pharmacy or just ask the doctor to prescribe RDT from another pharmacy?

I looked through some old posts and some folks said they had stronger experience on troches and some on RDT so I’m just looking for some more experiences/comparisons.

Also wanted to add that I still had a few 125 RDT that are technically expired that I tried within the past few weeks and def still had a stronger experience with those.

I just want to have the script right for a KAP session in a month (will take 1.5-2x dose for that) and I would hate to spend so much for the session and not have the ketamine actually do much of anything.

Cross River Pharmacy

Has anyone used this pharmacy before? My new provider sent the script there and I did get the troches overnight for a bit extra, which was good. But I tried one last night and did not have the same experience I have had in the past. I used The Chemist Shop a few years ago and they were RDT and always had a good experience as I slowly upped my dosage. This was a slightly higher dose than I’ve ever taken and it had less of an effect. These were troches and different than I’ve ever used. I didn’t really disconnect in a way I usually do. Wondering if it’s a bad batch or I should see if Cross River does RDT just go back to the old pharmacy for RDT if price is similar. Open to folks experience with both the pharmacy itself and RDT vs troches. Thanks!

Parking ticket

Hi, I've lived on my block for nearly 20 years, 10 of which with a car and have never had this happen before. Is double parking for street cleaning no longer accepted? Our street has street cleaning from 1130-1pm, I moved our car at 1125 to double park. I went to move our car back at 12:55 and came out to find a double parking ticket at 11:27. It would've been cheaper to leave the car parked for street cleaning. Are we literally supposed to move our cars at exactly the start time of street cleaning?

I now have both a talk therapist and a KAP therapist, both who take my insurance, though the latter will be partially out of pocket. The KAP therapist uses journey which I would prefer not to do as I suspect I will do KAP no more than twice a month and still would like to take ketamine the night before talk therapy sessions which are weekly and possibly a second time per week. I was previously on a daily dose of 125 and am looking to do higher weekly dose with highest dose during KAP.

I've poured through this subreddit and it seems Taconic is favored, but the $485 upfront plus $275 follow up plus the cost of ketamine is hard to swallow right now. Mindscape looks promising with $250 monthly cost including medication, but I guess it is dependent on dosage and again, how many troches you get. Anywhere clinic also looks promising at around $120-150, however the booking part of their website seems to be down and again dependent on dosage and how many troches you get. Finally Dr. Andersen at $250 per session but refills without monthly visits once stabilized sounds great. Would love feedback, especially in regards to dosage amounts, starting points, highest dose and how many troches as well as pros and cons on any of the above, or anything that I may have missed that fit the bill (I ruled out innerwell, betteru, mindbloom, kalm & joyous).

The last time I took ketamine my prescription (almost 2 years ago) was for 125 nightly troche. I'm no longer interested in nightly (1-2 times a week max - 1 the night before talk therapy), but am also going to do some KAP sessions. My KAP provider usually uses Journey but said if I had my own prescription ketamine I could use that for the KAP sessions. I know for KAP I would want a higher amount. I'm not keen on Journey since I would like to take the ketamine more often than I think they usually prescribe (if someone else has more details though, please share). Obviously would discuss with prescriber as well, but would it make sense if I went up to 150 to take 1.5-2 for the KAP session and the single 150 nights before therapy? I see folks dosages all over the place, I'm about 125 pounds and with the 125 I have a slight/brief disassociation, however I've only ever taken the pills at night and go to bed soon after. Thanks for your insight.

Hi, looking for an NP or other provider offering troches where the intake is ideally under $400 and follow ups are under $250 (also hopefully you could also get refills without monthly appointments - every other month would be great). It's been a few years since I last tried ketamine and my previous provider is no longer in network and now charges $450 for a monthly follow up plus the cost of troches. I see a lot of folks like Anywhere clinic, better u and taconic, but I was hoping to find someone NYC area based that is more affordable than what my old NP is charging, though am open to other options. I'm in the process of finding a new therapist who would support integration sessions as well as someone willing to do KAP (possibly the same person, but I feel like a lot of the KAP providers use Journey and I am ideally looking to do 1-2 KAP sessions a month but also be able to take a troche 1-2 times a week right now, I previously was prescribed it nightly and that was too much). Feel free to message me if you do not want to post names.
