Freelancers who are getting consistent clients from Upwork or outside platforms I seriously need advice.

I’m in the Gen AI / AI automation space (AI agents, GPT integrations, workflow automation, etc.) and my Upwork profile is still pretty new, so I’m struggling to get consistent clients. A lot of my proposals don’t even get viewed, and I’m trying to figure out whether I should keep focusing on Upwork or put more energy into other channels.

For people who are actually landing clients right now:

- Is Upwork still worth it in 2026 for AI freelancers with newer profiles?
- What helped you start getting replies and projects?
- How are you positioning your AI services so clients trust you?
- Are you seeing better results from LinkedIn, cold outreach, content, communities, or referrals?
- What kind of portfolio/projects helped the most?
- If you were starting again today in Gen AI, what would you focus on first?
