I’ve always kind of had closed comedones, especially right underneath my cheekbones. However, 3 months ago I traveled to Southeast Asia and the bumps got much, much worse. I was there for 5 weeks, been home for 2 months and they’ve only gotten worse. When I wash my face I just feel bumps everywhere I touch. I’ve had tinea versicolor in the past, and believe I have it on my cheeks right now as well. I tried treating with ketaconazole for about a week but saw zero improvement so I stopped and have been using salicylic acid and tretinoin. However I feel like they’ve only gotten worse so now I’m questioning if it’s fungal acne after all. I use FA safe face wash and moisturizer. The bumps are not itchy and aren’t red or inflamed unless I pick at them. I can’t figure it out!!!

I have these bumps alllll over my face. They kind of flared up out of nowhere. I was thinking that it was fungal acne but ketaconazole hasn’t seemed to help. So that’s what has led me to believe it’s KP, along with the fact that I’ve always had KP on my arms and thighs. I tried 2% BHA and azelaic acid but felt like my skin was getting far too irritated so I stopped. I occasionally use tretinoin but I’m worried that’s irritating it more.
