[OC] [Canada] Stupid undertake just to get to the stop sign a few seconds earlier

I usually take the straight lane going through this intersection, as vehicles to my right are usually turning, and right-on-red turners never look before going.

I was just looking over to get over to the (admittedly horrible) painted bike lane, when this driver decided to undertake me on the right. Only to get to the same stop sign a few seconds earlier.

Maybe it's just my city, but it sometimes feels like every single green light I approach is at the end of the pedestrian countdown to change (or about to change to red), and the lights that are always green while travelling in a motor vehicle are always red when on a bike (usually for quiet side streets).

For the lights with separate turning phases for each direction, I will always get stopped for the longest time possible. At certain intersections, I will get stopped at 19 times out of 20. 40km/h headwind? Here, all green lights. 40km/hr tailwind? The opposite. I don't run red lights, but sometimes I will put my head down and sprint through a yellow, even though they are very short.

Often, I route plan through neighbourhoods/side streets to avoid this, but it is sometimes funny.

Anyone else also feel this? My bike commute is often the best part of my day, so this is a light-hearted post and not meant to be taken too seriously. But it can get frustrating sometimes!
