My girl best friend lied about “family problems” to dump her bf… turns out she already had another guy

My girl best friend broke up with her boyfriend saying she had serious family problems and couldn’t continue the relationship. Later he found out through an Instagram story that she was already seeing another guy. She denied it at first, then admitted it was actually her in the story.

The thing is, this behavior isn’t even surprising anymore. She always had a huge ego about looks, caste, status, etc. Constantly judged people’s appearance and even used to insult her own bf by calling him “illiterate,” “village boy,” and stupid. Yet he still defended her every single time.

Me and her also had fights before because I told her indirectly to maintain some boundaries with my boyfriend because I was uncomfortable. She first agreed, then later twisted it into “you’re questioning my character” and played victim in front of her bf. we stopped talking for months due to this.

I even apologized once and took the blame because I genuinely felt bad. Later I realized she just wanted sympathy and validation while avoiding accountability.

Now her ex is venting to me because we were all close and treated him like family. I honestly feel bad for him because he ignored every red flag for her.

What would you do in this situation? how can i help this guy?

3 months into Job and I already hate office politics

Hello everyone, so you probably got the idea from the title itself.

I joined this company around 3 months ago and already got introduced to office politics way too early 😭. My manager clearly shows favoritism towards one or two employees, especially one girl. She gets all the important updates, feedback, appreciation, and leaves without much questioning.

Meanwhile, I’ve never taken a single leave since joining, but when I finally asked for leave because of exams, he made comments like, “You look very happy today because you got the leaves.” 😭 Like… what was I supposed to do, cry?

I’ll honestly admit that I’m average at verbal English communication. I know what I want to say, but sometimes I struggle to articulate it properly. I’m working on it, but because of that they assume I’m not capable enough.

Recently, I got the chance to lead a project discussion in front of the client on a Teams call, and right before I was about to speak, one of my manager’s favourites interrupted and said, “I think she has some queries related to the project, she forgot to ask.” That completely messed up my confidence and I got nervous during the session.

Most of the time I just do my work, take my breaks, and go home without caring much about these people. But lately it’s getting too much and it’s genuinely bothering me.

How do you guys deal with managers and coworkers like this? Any advice would really help.
