42 years ago, the Chili Peppers, or well, some of them, played at the Grand Olympic Auditorium in LA, with... Keith Morris?

Today 42 years ago, the Chili Peppers, with Cliff Martinez and Jack Sherman, in the debut album tour, played quite an interesting set, not particularly for the songs played, but because Anthony was nowhere seen, and he was replaced by the Circle Jerk Keith Morris, who got in the mic and just screamed things while the band played. Flea mentions it on the official "An Oral/Visual History" book (p. 147): "We got an opening slot at the Olympic Auditorium. But Anthony in all his junkie splendor did not show up. Keith Morris from the Circle Jerks said "I'll sing" and so we went out with him. We were just playing the songs and he would yell out stuff - whatever he could."

This is the ONLY concert from the band in which Anthony didn't perform, making Flea be the one who played the most performances out of everyone on the band. Unfortunately no videos or audio exist from this concert, but there is one picture, which is the last one in the post. Damn, what a concert...!

Fun fact: This is one of the only live performances played on a 12th May, which is my birthday, and knowing that such an interesting piece of RHCP history happened on my birthday, hell yeah!

9 years ago, the Red Hot Chili Peppers played at the PPG Paints Arena, in Pittsburgh!

Great concert! From the The Getaway tour, featuring Josh on guitar, with a really damn good setlist, with songs like Snow, Dark Necessities, Californication, Soul To Squeeze, and Brandy (You're a Fine Girl), which hadn't been played since 2005! Overall nice concert, check it out!

34 years ago, the Red Hot Chili Peppers played their last show with John Frusciante, before he left the band for the first time.

This is quite an important show for the band. John was already sick of everything and decided to leave the band that same day, however, the Peppers convinced him to play this one show, and he did. Unfortunately, no photos or audio have resurfaced from this show, but we have the setlist, which is pretty good. I would say it must have been a fun show and a great performance, but knowing how Frusciante was playing in 1992, I quite doubt it.

Once again, I can't really talk about this performance. Out of all of the posts I've done, this one has the least info of them all. All we know from this one are these pictures, and that they played Why Don't You Love Me, from the debut album, although most likely they also played Out In LA, Get Up And Jump, and a few more. But damn, those pictures are pretty good!

Hello! New poster on this subreddit

I've recently got into taping live concerts (specifically audio). I've already taped a few concerts with my phone, and although recording them with my phone is really comfortable, the sound is... Well, okay, not bad, not great, just okay. So I was wondering, is there any good USB-C, portable, affordable, made for loud sound without distortion, and with good sound quality? Thanks a lot in advance ♥️

Great performance by the band. This concert, from the Infinity Tour, features the classic lineup, with Slovak and Irons, and has songs like Out In LA, American Ghost Dance, Hollywood, True Men Don't Kill Coyotes, Yertle The Turtle, and others!

Also... We can't ignore those AMAZING photos, taken by Lance Mercer. Great great concert! There is no video footage from this one, but there is a GREAT audio recording from the soundboard that you can listen to right here: https://youtu.be/4ZJVMrsugKQ?si=xsT-zMnJz4vd9dn9

Check it out!

Can't tell much about this performance, since unfortunately there are no videos, audio recordings, or anything, just two pictures of the concert itself, but as featurettes, I included some images from the behind the scenes, which are pretty neat! The setlist is pretty good, mostly the exact same one as the 2000 concerts from the band, with songs like Around The World, Subterranean Homesick Blues, Parallel Universe, I Like Dirt, and others. Great pictures!

EDIT: It wasn't Arizona, it was Canada, so sorry!

Beautiful pictures from this concert in Japan! From the Blood Sugar Sex Magik tour, with songs like Give It Away, Bullet Proof, Mommy Where's Daddy, Under The Bridge, and others!

This is also one of the last concerts with John Frusciante, before he left the band a week later.

Now THIS, is an amazing performance. Excellent concert with a near perfect performance by the quartet, with an awesome setlist, with songs like Can't Stop, Charlie, Dani California, By the Way, and others! One of the BEST live concerts of the band without any doubt, check it out now!

Amazing performance by the band! Great setlist with all bangers, amazing performance by the band, in every way possible. With songs like By The Way, Scar Tissue, Universally Speaking, Suck My Kiss, I Could Have Lied, and others!

This recording here is taken from an audience member, but the video and audio quality is truly great (except for Californication, that was professionally recorded from this concert). Check it out!

Great pictures from a great performance! Features songs like Around The World, Subterranean Homesick Blues, I Could Have Lied, Sir Psycho Sexy, and more! Despite being from the year 2000, the band didn't have the mohawks yet, featured in Off The Map. Great concert!
