Is my profile still typical with ADHD?

I’m a 38-year-old male who recently underwent a neuropsychological evaluation and was diagnosed with ADHD (combined presentation).

Some of the key scores were:
VCI: 127 (96th percentile)
VSI: 111 (77th percentile)
FRI: 113 (81st percentile)
WMI: 82 (12th percentile)
PSI: 91 (27th percentile)
GAI: 123 (94th percentile)
FSIQ: 113 (81st percentile)
CPI: 84 (14th percentile)

The most striking discrepancy seems to be VCI 127 vs. WMI 82 (a 45-point difference).

For context, I have an MA in Philosophy and recently completed a PhD in Anthropology. I’ve generally done well in highly verbal and conceptual environments, but I’ve struggled for years with procrastination, task initiation, organization, and turning plans into consistent action.

A few questions:

How common is a profile like this among adults with ADHD?

Is a VCI-WMI discrepancy of this magnitude unusual, even within ADHD populations?

How much weight would you place on GAI (123) versus FSIQ (113) when interpreting the results?

Have people with similar profiles found stimulant medication (Vyvanse, Adderall, etc.) meaningfully improved working memory, cognitive efficiency, or task initiation?

One additional wrinkle: English is not my native language. I grew up in Indonesia, attended local Indonesian schools (not international schools), learned English through the regular educational system, and now speak Indonesian, English, and Japanese. My undergraduate, master’s, and PhD education were all conducted in English, and the evaluation was administered in English.

The testing was also conducted early in the morning, which is typically when I feel most cognitively sluggish, and I didn’t sleep particularly well the night before. I’m curious whether factors like time of day and poor sleep would be expected to meaningfully affect measures such as WMI, PSI, or FSIQ.

I’d be interested in hearing both professional and personal perspectives.

My Sets

This is my personal rank of sets I own.

  1. The Trinity in no particular order: TGXEar Red Serratus (full foams), Flathead Audio Studio (full grey foams), Temperament DM7 (donut foams). I can't decide between them, they're each top for their certain uses/genres and mood of the day. DM7 has the widest soundstage and separation.
  2. Flathead Audio Pear (naked, no foams). Initially, I didn't like it as it was too warm for me, that was, with foams. When I took the foams off, everything became more balance, superb quality bass with clarity and space. Really great.
  3. Flathead Audio FH-01 (donut foams). Great overall with slight warm-leaning, large and rather forward presentation overall--in this regard it sounds just a tad bit 'cramped' compared to the sets ranked above it.
  4. TimeEar TEA-99 (donut foams). Nice clarity and sense of space, less bass than FH-01. At around $30, it's surprising what it can do really.
  5. NICEHCK EBX25Ti (full foams). There's a certain treble energy that is piercing to my ears. It definitely has clarity and all but it's hard for me to really listen to it due to its piercing nature to my ears.

Is there a set out there I should perhaps consider purchasing in 2026?

More Flathead's Exposure: Joyce's Review

She's quite a budding reviewer who recently broke off of her employer and established her own independent review channel. She typically focuses on IEMs, but here's her first review of Flathead! Beside being one of the few unicorn female reviewers in the space, I think she can boost visibility for Flatheads some more. Show her channel some love please!
