Advice on separation and child custody

Hello, I'm looking to physically separate from my husband of almost 10 years. We have a 3.5 year old child. I know in Canada the custody is default 50-50. But I am not comfortable with that and would like more custody for a few reasons:

- My husband has a lack of emotional regulation, and in some extreme cases he can't take rational decisions, for example:

- Our child has some health conditions, if we've had a fight, he will refuse to talk to me, even refuse to answer when it's questions pertaining to my child's medication. Like did you give this medicine or do I need to give it? He says "I don't know".

- If our child was sick but the next day has no fever (but is still weak) tries to send him to school because he can't manage him at home. Even if I take the day off and say I will take care of him on my own. He ends up getting mad and threatens me that he will not help even a bit, and he really doesn't help at all on those days, even if my child is distraught or I am completely overwhelmed.

So a couple of incidents here and there like these. On good days he's a great dad, spends a lot of time with our child and is loving. On a few bad days, it's like the above, few but still concerning. This might not count but adding for context, my husband can't cook at all, I make all my child's meals, responsible for all doc appointments, medications, school stuff and other activities.

Unfortunately, I don't have enough proof, other than an email I sent to him at that time telling him he crossed the line and maybe a few other whatsapp messages. Do those count? Can they be provided as evidence to get more custody like 70-30? Thanks
