Portable Generator
Curious if anyone has seen what the local stock is looking like at HD and/or Lowe’s, I’m assuming most everything is wiped clean.
Our power is back on now, but our generator quit working on Sunday.

For my speedtests, I have it locked to always use the same server. I noticed in the individual test results, it shows a different public ip and ISP ( i.e Google Fiber, Cox Communications, etc.) for each one.
Just curious, where are those coming from and what do they represent?
So, I know this is pointless geeky technology stuff, but last week an emailer made reference to Felger “zooming” into the show from his house in Nantucket and Felger corrected them saying the video part is Zoom, but the audio is via an ISDN line. ISDN is older technology that is still used in the broadcast industry for high quality, low latency audio and I assume needs to be specifically installed by the phone company and is probably not cheap.
So does that mean that Felger had an ISDN line installed at both his Nantucket and Florida house specifically for the show?
Not that I expect anyone to know the answer to this, but I just found it interesting.
Not sure if others have noticed this, but seems the local DNS caching still doesn’t work properly. Regardless of whether using a custom DNS or the default (ISP), with caching enabled it passes the gateway ip to my devices as expected but when I check to see what DNS server is actually being used for requests (like dnsleaktest.com) it always shows it’s using Google. Even if I had never used Google DNS ever in the past.
So essentially if you want to enable the local DNS cache setting, you are forced to point to Google DNS.
Anyone else notice this as well?
I’ve done reboots of the network and devices but doesn’t help.
Not the end of the world, just curious if others have seen this.
After the 76ers got swept (severely) by the Knicks. There was a caller on Friday that said everyone should go easy on the Celtics because they lost to a “superior” 76ers team. Comedy gold.
