AITA for walking out of my side hustle today for after a year?
I‘m a freelance camera operator making decent money in the sports industry, I work for the NFL among other leagues basically year round. A year ago I got a side gig making pizzas at a national chain just as a burner job during slower periods in my schedule.
The people I worked with there were super cool at first, but then two sisters who are basically co-dependent on eachother and not well liked started getting promoted, first to shift leader and now GM and assistant. a lot of people saw the writing on the wall and started quitting when they got their first promotion, but I’ve been sticking around because it’s decent money and I liked my other coworkers.
They are constantly micromanaging me, things like nitpicking my uniform or how stretch dough and otherwise making me feel unimportant or novice even though I’ve been there a year.
Today i came back from a 2 week break and the GM approaches me first thing and without any other greeting tells me to put an apron on in front of 2 newer coworkers, event though she knows I don’t usually wear one because I also am out constantly making deliveries. I felt so disrespected by it that I grabbed my stuff and walked out on the spot.
I feel bad leaving my coworkers hanging, but at the same time I felt like I couldn’t allow myself to be embarrassed like that anymore, especially with a lot of important work coming up with NFL starting back up in 2 weeks, my mental well being is very important to me right now. But am I in the wrong?
