Living with in-laws and your self esteem

Why do so many of you start your marriages with agreeing to live with your in laws. You need to work on your self esteem and your self worth. If a guy is not willing to move out and get a place together for the two of you, don’t be so desperate to marry. Have enough self worth and self esteem to be firm on your requirement to NOT live with them.

You guys all seem so miserable.

hosting a mixed group

i have a group of 5 close friends coming to stay, they are staying for a week, and then we are travelling together for a week. I need 5 nights of dinners at home, we will eat out on the weekend, and then will be eating out the week we are travelling. I havent seen them all in 6 months, since I moved to another country, so im keen to cook for them again. We have 4 meat eaters, and 1 vegetarian

so far my thoughts are

  1. curry night - will do a chicken or a lamb curry, and a couple of veggie dishes which would be 'sides' if everyone was a meat-eater, as an Indian this is super easy for me, and can be done the day before they arrive

  2. chicken/ aubergine cutlets, ceaser salad and pasta - what kind of sauce would you recommend with the pasta - a creamy sauce or a red sauce? ive never made chicken parm before but keep seeing it on tiktok

  3. a steak night - need a veggie option for this, with smashed potato, blue cheese sauce, and a non blue cheese salad as only 2 of us like BC.

  4. ?? pasta night ?? keep protein add-ons separate like shrimp/ shredded chicken

  5. one pot lemon orzo chicken with a separate ?? halloumi version???

HELP lol.

The kettle

I’m tempted to splurge on the kettle and grand teapots - I have one of the regular teapots but for bigger groups of friends coming round, the bigger would be ideal.

I have a smeg kettle and toaster, I don’t see myself getting massive use out of the kettle but it’s so stunning and I love how it looks on display.

For those who have it but already have a regular electric kettle, do you use both? I love how my smeg kettle and toaster look together on the opposite counter so def won’t be getting rid of it lol.

Idk if I’m wasting money 😂😂

My kitchen is mostly Marseille blue / blueberry with some artichaut, carribean and agave thrown in for good measure! Already have all of these items in other colours but this BR colour is SO tempting, couldn’t resist!!
