Currently ripping this Anthony Wilson record using the optical out of the Waxing and an optical to USB C adapter to record on the computer via VinylStudio. While that’s happening I’m using AirPlay to send the signal back to the WiiM Pro Plus and running it through the DAC of the Vincent SV-500 via optical from the WiiM so I can listen and rip at the same time.

When I want to optimize things for critical listening I will switch to the line out of the Waxwing and just go directly through the Vincent.

Anyway, this is where I’m at, hopefully y’all are having a good Saturday.

Sending music from my turntable to a Parks Audio Waxwing (does ADC, has SPDIF out) to my computer running VinylStudio. Then sending the live recording via Bluetooth to a WiiM, which is connected via RCA line out to my amp and speakers. I am doing this so I can rip vinyl, and still listen to it what I would consider “the fun way” throughout the process. I thought this was pretty cool, and all I needed to buy to configure my setup like this was a $20 SPDIF in USB-C out doodad. Predictably, the audio sounds a little compressed, but I was getting tired of wearing headphones all day. My original plan was to get a splitter for the SPDIF out of the Waxwing to send the signal to VinylStudio and my amp at the same time, I may still experiment with that.

My place is finally starting to look less transient. I’ve been in this house for 7 years, and I’ve been the sole tenant for 3. I’ve never lived alone before, so far I am loving it. I tried to do the whole MCM bachelor pad thing (original, I know) with varying degrees of success. Not showing the bathroom or kitchen because they are honest to god nothing special. Basement is unfinished and packed to the gills with random stuff in storage, you guys don’t need to see that. Really enjoying some of the cool and unique setups I’m seeing here so I wanted to offer up mine in earnest.

Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO with upgraded platter/sub platter and cart, Parks Audio Waxwing, WiiM Pro Plus, Vincent SV-500, Zu Audio DW mkii’s

I tend to alternate between running my vinyl through just the Waxwing and using an optical connection to the WiiM Pro Plus from the Waxwing for room correction and cleaner playback (Waxwing converts turntable audio to 24/96 digital)

I also have a FiiO DM15 in the other room which I connect via coax to the Vincent, and I often use the WiiM Pro Plus the way the lord intended

With the addition of an Audiolab 6000CDT my living room system has reached a plateau.

Beogram RX2, WiiM Mini, Audiolab 6000CDT, Audiolab 6000A, Jensen Model 5’s

A nice change of pace from my headier mid-fi main system, great for when I have company over. The Audiolab+Jensens handle TV audio as well.
