as a modder I am absolutely terrified of the supposed new anti-cheat
Okay so I've been a modder for helldivers 2 for around a year now, pouring hundreds upon hundreds of hours (probably more time than actually spent in the game) into modelling, texturing, porting in models, weight painting and ect and I've been so proud of what i have been able to accomplish despite the relative apathy from arrowhead and mods breaking every few months but if it's true helldivers 2 is swapping to easy anti-cheat I'll lose all of that progress and it would be all for nothing pretty much.
"but why don't you just mod another game" Because helldivers 2 is such a unique experience it's the only thing like it and it's such a beginner friendly game to mod! It truly just infuriates me how arrowhead straight up doesnt care about a portion of the community that i would say is the most dedicated, trying to make the game the best it can be. Also it'd be a stupid decision regarding the fact ALMOST EVERYONE ON PC PLAYS WITH MODS, hell i got helldivers 2 on PS5 with 300 hours first then bought it a second time on PC STARTING COMPLETELY OVER just so i could make and play with mods.
Now this could just be me being irrational but the sheer thought of all my time being for nothing and cast aside by arrowhead just makes me want to drop the game alltogether.
PS: sorry if this is a bit rambly i havent wrote something this long in years
