Bluegrass/folk jams in town?

Looking for a weekend jam in town where I can have some fun playing music. I’ve been driving to Chapel Hill the last few months, but I’d like to save my gas if I can.

Odometer and radio display out

2006 Silverado WT. After doing some work and having the battery disconnected, I put everything back together and took it out for a test drive. I noticed that the odometer and the radio LCDs were not working. The radio does work, just with no display. I smelled a whiff of funny electrical burning smell as well, but couldn't localize it.

I'm really hoping that the dash cluster didn't blow. The rest of the gauges and lights work fine. The fact that it's the LCDs for both the odometer and the stock radio makes me wonder if it's a fuse or a wire somewhere. I have gone through and tested/replaced the IGN and radio fuses that are a common culprit.

Brakes worse after booster r&r

The Silverado was gathering pollen sitting in the driveway, so I went back to the brake booster replacement that had prompted me to park it. I had been getting poor assist while braking along with a sighing noise and a CEL for vacuum leak.

I replaced the lower end of the clutch pedal at the same time, since I had been dealing with some issues there.

Anyway, the brakes are far worse than before. I’d venture a guess that I’m getting almost no assist, and I have to stand on the pedal to get the brakes to apply at all. The pedal is stiff as a board.

I did not remove the master cylinder to get the booster out. I was able to hold my tongue right and slip it in and out. Since I had to jostle the MC a bit to get the booster in and out, I guess I could need to bench bleed the MC or something — but my experience tells me that that issue would result in a soft pedal, not a rock hard one.

Was my brake booster bad out of the box?

Strategies for Ortiz build

The other day I ran enough targeted loot escalation to net a few sets of Ortiz Exuro armor. This is the best build I have come up with, but I'd enjoy some input on how to make it better. It does well up to about tier 6-7 or so, and then peters out, but I don't know if a skills / status effects build really works in upper tier escalation anyway. In regular heroic it just melts everything without breaking a sweat.

I’m not talking about DPS, but in a skill healer build, I tried out Ruthless again and I liked it. It was one of my first exotics back in the day and I was like, “well this is hot garbage,” and never looked back. But — its skill actually works on super tanky enemies.

I was running a Refactor build in escalations, and using Ruthless’s talent seemed to cause a stun effect on most enemies. It was possible to get full stacks on even the red tier guys.

I’m a casual player at shd 1300. I’ve done a couple dozen runs at tier 7+ and gotten a few good pieces and a lot of cores.

Question: I am not up to expertise 30 in any weapon. I can’t even upgrade that high because I haven’t grinded for expertise. Can I use my cores to prototype any existing gear I own, if they are not expertise 30?

I’m feeling very limited by the random drops without the ability to craft or change them at all. Am I missing something?
