Newish to Arizona

Is this a protected cactus? Can I cut this off my chain link fence?

Where do I find this info so I can study even what this is?

What kind of Cholla please?

I think I know it’s not teddy bear cholla. But we aren’t native to Arizona so we don’t know.

Also, it’s in alley way? Growing into and through our chain link fence. Is it ok to cut it back off our fence? We have 3 of them that grow in the alley way.

Hmm maybe I need to post this in Arizonas sub.

Buds blasted.

So really moving now. The first is Wednesday! 🤗😂

In all the busy work, I think, not realizing they’d bloom this quick again, and being busy packing and whatnots….i think I’ve made a few buds blast.

My ? Is, is the peduncle ok? Or did it die too?! Or will it still try to bloom again even though it blasted these 2? (Hoya Carnosa)

Walmart has plumeria?!

Went to Walmart yesterday real quick and I saw plumeria!! 🤯 Been here 8 years in Arizona parts and NEVER seen here for sale lol!

$19.98 for a 1 gallon. I left them there. I’m in the middle of a move lol. Pink or red is how they were labeled.

Growing again!

The love of plumeria comes from my daughter. Shes the pro (not really she’s just grown in Texas for a long time now.)

I’m in Arizona. I gave up growing at our location because it’s God awful hot but then in winter we actually freeze. Hard freezes.

It’s hard growing them here. Shade cloth, moving around all the time. Water. I gave up.

Well. During Covid plumeria society did a seed give away. Just send a self addressed and stamped return envelope - I did. I got a ton of seeds lol. These seeds are old. Most I just recently sent to my daughter. I kept 2. 1 didn’t start and here’s the other!! 🙌🏼🥺 It wasn’t supposed to sprout lmao!!

I can’t say I’m not currently growing anymore lmao!! 🤣 Clearly, I’m growing!!!! Haha!

So tiny!!!

She held on! I’m shocked and stoked at the same time!! No smell as of yet. (Thankfully happened right before our move!)

We have to move

😭😭😭 This is gonna prove interesting to say the least. It’s not far, kinda really just up the street.

We loved this retro house lol. Just didn’t like the location, so maybe a blessing in disguise. It does get us out of this neighborhood at least.

It’s just, 100+ houseplants. LOL Oy!!! Wish us luck!!

New home

Please join my husband and I in prayer. (Arizona, USA)
We found out yesterday that a place we’ve called home for 8 years has been sold and putting up track housing in its place. We’ve only got till end of July.

We have a lead! Lord please, if you’re willing, let
This be ours! Let this be our new place
To rent till the end of our days?

You know us Lord. You know our hearts. 🤲🧎‍♀️‍➡️

What’s this?!

I thought I knew what this was. I know what the tag said, clearly I understand that tags get misplaced and stuck in plants that aren’t what the tag says. Now I question. What do I actually have?

Hoya Krohniana - a love hate relationship

Then she shows me this! A peduncle?! I don’t have faith she’ll hold on to it. First bloom in my care if it stays.

This is the 2nd of her kind. I killed the first one by dry rotting it I think. (Followed the shops care.) But I also think I’ve got a mixed bag of something. Is this just 1 plant?! lol.

I know what it was sold as, the sticker is still on the pot. Hoya “Eskimo” is on the label. My first one didn’t look like this. Haha.

I’m still trying to win her heart and figure her out! 💚🪴

Help me help my prized possession! 🫢

Any Harmony’s Fireworks begonia pros here?

This is my favorite of all plants. Bout 3 years ago I was the sickest I’ve ever been. I had been sick for months, it was the worst! (Pneumonia, landed me in hospital)

Well, I had a mishap with her. My hair (it’s long) got caught up in her leaves and she toppled to the floor and landed on her head! 😭

This is her 3 years after. All the growth I had in the middle died off and left with nothing in the middle. All she wants to do is throw flowers and the rhizome is just, dinky.

What have I done?

I am a keeper of all things Rex. I do have 1 cane. I’ve been caring for begonias since I was 8. I have the family heirloom beefsteak. I know begonia. I don’t know this problem.

Maybe just a re-soil? Get things situated in the middle? It’s the only thing I can think of.

I’ve tried restarting more and not been successful with just this 1 in any way. lol. I don’t understand. Lolol

Good morning my favorite people of Reddit! I have some ?’s as this is my first experience with blooms and Hoya. (Please don’t think I’m strange. I’m just trying to learn.)

I “heard” to leave Hoya alone the first couple years so you don’t hinder the bloom process. No clipping no drastic measures, just kinda leave them alone so that they’ll bloom. (Might be old wives tale 🤷‍♀️)

My Carnosa I’ve grown from a cutting from my daughter, is on its 2nd bloom ever. 3rd will be shortly right after lol. Can I trim Carnosa now? Or will it hinder the next bloom process?

I’ve lost faith in asking Google. It’s too wrong anymore and very misleading. I’d rather ask you fine people of Hoya!
