A tug of war from 1925

This picture is from the archival photographs of the University of Montana. A Chicago, Milwaukee & St Paul General Electric EP-2 ultimately wins a tug of war against two steam locomotives. I'm not sure of the trestle location, but I think it's part of the Milwaukee Road in northern Idaho, which is now the Hiawatha Bike Trail. This route includes 10 tunnels and 7 trestles.

Puss in Boots showing off his fireworks while lounging on the coffee table

We adopted him a little over two years ago. He's just the sweetest, most cuddly boy.

I posted this area before several years ago, but during the winter season. Here's the summer version.

Three Six Five

It's been a year. After several months, two new rescues have joined us. Vinny and Sadie are good pups and get along great. The new Committee of the Stick and Ball also has been handling unscheduled yard excavations as well. We love them very much. Today is Piper's day, too. Even after a year, it still seems fresh. We wish she was here with us still, but if she was, Vinny and Sadie wouldn't be. Sadie was out of time at her shelter. It was just good fortune that she got connected with us. Blah, blah, everything happens for a reason... A year has put a lot of water under the bridge and we're glad for these new faces with us.

I didn't know these could do this. Such a pretty bloom.

This was a rescue after being left behind at a hotel. It's thrived in a bright window and rewarded us with these little flowers.

Sadie is the newest family member. She joined us three weeks ago

Sadie is Great Pyrenees who loves her belly rubs and playing with her brother, Vinny. She was a stray in Amarillo before she got picked up and found her way to us.

How it started, how it's going

The first pic is from September of 2024. Bones was living in a campground in western Montana. After several attempts, the kids managed to catch her and brought her to the house. She was very thin and the kids named her Bones. She's still a small cat, but she's healthy, happy and becoming a little cuddle bug. Like the other cats, she's indoor only now. Her days of campground scrounging are behind her.
