I am interested in restarting my Imperial Guard for the upcoming 11th edition. I am especially interested as the vostroyan made to order is very interesting to me.
What are the current strengths of the guard and good areas to focus on? I use to play back in 8th Ed where the loyal 32 and a ton of tanks were a go to epically with overlapping fields of fire.
What are some units to focus on now? Is the army more focused on vehicles now? How much infantry is needed now? How about officers or heavy/special weapons?
I’d appreciate any advice for someone coming back into guard and looking to inform their purchases during the made to order period.
Got my first SKS, a 1952 Tula. Any insights into the history of this based on markings?
Any tips for keeping this wood looking nice?

Got myself a SKS from 52 in the mail and am getting my accessories. One of the things I was considering is a firing pin replacement.
I am slightly worried about slam firing and have seen venders selling replacements that report to prevent the issue.
Had anyone had experience with Murray’s firing pin replacements or other such replacements?
This is going to be an easy one I guess but wanted to join the fun. What can you gleam?
