So quick Background .. I am 54 .. 55 this September. Born and raised in Nebraska, joined the Military and from that point I visit home but have lived in California ever since.

My Saturdays during the season are blacked out ... I will NOT miss the game. In the event they play close .. I am there .. I was at the ASU beating in 96 went to the Cal game back in 98 .. Took my father to the Rose bowl when we backed in to the title game and lost to Miami. Made it to USC in 24 ... Arrowhead and UCLA last year.

All this said ... I grew up poor .. I have NEVER been to a Home game in Lincoln. My girlfriend of 2 years, went behind my back and got with my 2 brothers, secured the flight, hotel and tickets for all 3 of us to the Indiana game on the 10th. (My late fathers birthday weekend)

So .... for you folks that will be at that game which I know we all feel is going to be HUGE ... if you see a grown man crying, please understand I have waited my life for this game!!!

I have watched this game from afar for a bit ... I will dive deep into a game... grind.. burn out .. rinse repeat.

I have a good deal of DayZ experience from years ago (I know .,. this one is WAY different but atleast I knew what the Grizzley was) and Friday night decided to give this one a go. I knew enough about PVP to go ahead and avoid it and went straight into PVE.

That said .. playing over the weekend learned some hard lessons ... was not till late last night I discovered not to kill Scavs as a Scav... Mr Fence is not happy with me.

I figured out how to accept and take the missions all to late ... could have cleared a few but had no idea they were not accepted till Mr Skier would not take the vest/shotty.

Ok so Ground Zero is absolutely wrecking me ... I die and lose my gear every time (insuring the good items) .... then I go back to Interchange to rebuild gear and confidence .. rinse and repeat.

Any help with this map and all around General start off tips ... I think I made it to like level 5-6

Ok .. Firstly I am impressed with the feedback, It restores a bit of my faith in humanity when a gaming community is willing/eager to help ... THANK YOU!

I am happy to report after reading all thses comments I got home .. booted up and completed not ONE .. but TWO extracts from GZ in a row. I ended up with some pretty decent loot and did a coupe tasks for the traders (The one where you pay to get out for Skier) and a couple other ones I needed in Interchange .. all in all 5 Extracts in a row without dying I logged off and was pretty happy with the session

Ok .. this has been bugging me like beef jerky in-between my teeth.

So with the addition of crafting I know many of us have been out there grinding blueprints .. don't Lie .. I have seen you all out there.

So ... we have our gear ... weapons .. component .. what-have you blueprints in out possession and have been out there looking/mining/stealing/buying .. even begging for some decent quality ore to craft our new shiny whatever you desire thing in the Fabricator that may or may not have vanished a couple times (Not that its ever happened to me)

So .. after getting a few of the items .. I am feeling pressed to gather the rest or worst case I would have to waste that 900 qual and mix it with peasant 600 qual just to not lose it for 4.9??

CIG ... PLEASE ... I BEG of you ..tell me you have thought about this and intend to let me KEEP MY PRECIOUS ... I am over here like Gollum .. not to be confused with Golem ... not wanting to lose this stuff.

I know 4.8 has been a .. well .. we all know ... but trying to one source the blueprints .. source the materials and finally craft the goods all inside a month only to be sent back to zero as far as gathering resources goes will be a tough one to accept.

Take my burritos and drinks .. just leave my high quality ore alone ... Wikelo has stolen enough.

So, Memorial Day weekend hits, I go ahead and take an extra day off.

Little back story: My son who is 19 just finished his last semester of local college and was accepted to a new university where he will move to for the next 2-3 years. His mother and I divorced when he was 6-7 and split custody 50-50. Every year from that point we went out for at the least a week … At first I called it camping but quickly it became Overlanding

We haven’t missed a year nor a trip… we’ve done local, one year we clocked 4000 miles and 11 states … last year was California to Yosemite and then up to Yellowstone and back

This last one hit different… the kid knows exactly what to do, how to pack and prep, how to start a fire …. Without me granted he might starve but all the other stuff he has down

For those new, or with young ones… TAKE EM WITH YOU, I promise you will not regret it, all our trips were in my 2017 gmc canyon, bought it new and every scratch, ding, dent has a story and I’ll never sell it as it’s been the one constant memory bank with my son
