Kyung Hee University Global Campus Yongin

Hello everyone!

I’m an international student who recently received an admission offer for graduate studies at Kyung Hee University. At first, I was under the impression that I’d be based on the Seoul Campus, but I’ve now realized my program will actually be at the Global Campus in Yongin.

I really like the university, its academic reputation, and my specific major, but I’m hoping to get some honest insights regarding everyday life in this area.

  • How would you describe life in Yongin around the Global Campus? Is it active and fun for grad students, or more on the quiet/suburban side?
  • How accessible is travel to Seoul or neighboring areas for weekend trips or socializing?
  • Overall, how friendly is it for an international student living there long-term?

I'd love to hear any advice, personal experiences, or tips from anyone familiar with the campus or city. Thanks in advance!

Foreigner's life/study at Sejong University

Hello everyone!!

I am from Pakistan and I have an offer for a fully funded direct PhD at Sejong University, with a RA stipend.

I will be joining for the Spring 27 session. I am bit confused about the comments I have read so far about Sejong University and the life at it's campus. Would yoy guys recommend going there for my PhD? The Professor i have talked to seems very nice and very experienced in his field. He's a MIT graduate, and also has worked in Korean Military. I don't have any doubts about his Lab but would you guys recommend the university? Is it worth it?

How is life is Seoul? How well do Koreans and Foreigner mix? I want to have a happy life and explore Korea, if i did go.

Your thoughts and opinions will be highly appreciated!

Jobs in AI/Computer Vision?

Hello, I am writing this to inquire about the job market in Riyadh or Saudi generally.

I am an AI graduate, specializing in Computer Vision and GPU Programming. I am actively looking for opportunities for fresh grads with around 1 year of experience.

I have a one publication as well. I have very good practical experience in the relevant field.

If any one of you knew anything about the job market or any sub reddits or even some hiring agencies, please let me know! I would love to get in touch with them and look for opportunities for myself.

Thank you!

GPU programming vs MLOps

Hello everyone,

I’m currently an undergraduate student with a focus on Computer Vision, and I genuinely enjoy working in this field. This summer, I want to add a complementary skill to strengthen my profile and improve my skillset. Additionally, I want to pursue Masters and PhD and get into academia in future.

I’m currently deciding between GPU Programming / Low-level Optimization and MLOps.

On one hand, GPU programming and optimization feels very aligned with Computer Vision and deep learning performance work, which I find interesting. On the other hand, MLOps seems more industry-oriented and could open broader opportunities in deploying and maintaining ML systems.

I’d like to ask people working in the field,

what is the current market demand like for GPU programming?

How does it compare to MLOps in terms of job opportunities and career growth?

As someone focused on Computer Vision, which direction would you recommend I prioritize next?

Any guidance or personal experience would be really helpful.

Thank you!
