For me the obvious awnser is the Bands pack, i would love to have a sim be a famous musician that can actually perform in front of a big crowd in a concert venue, i tried playing with the base game musician career but it's not the same, here is my version of a bands pack:

The Sims 4: Fans & Idols Expansion Pack

Features:

- World inspired by South Korea

- Active musician career with live performances (k-group, solo artist, rock bands etc..)

- Concert venue lot type

- Fandom system (since the Fame system is locked to Get Famous we need something to replace it, this one would similar to hobby entusiasm from sims 2, you can become a fan of various things, not only musicians. A musician's "fame" would be measured according to how large their fandom is)

- New skills: electric guitar, drumming, performing

base game update: Singing becomes a base game skill (photography was originally a Get To Work exclusive skill so i think they could do the same with singing if they really wanted)

One more out-of-the-box idea I have is an expansion based on beauty and the fashion world:

The Sims 4: Fashion Expansion Pack

Features:

- World inspired by Brazil

- Model active career

- Beauty Salon lot type and business

- hair dyeing (similar to tattoos in businesses & hobbies)

- clothing customization (bringing back the sewing machine skill from sims 2)

- new skill: Styling (hair styling, make up and clothing style with the new sewing machine object)

I used to hate university because of how boring and exhausting it was, but now it became one of my fav things to do after i learned how to handle it, here are some things that helped me a lot separated by packs:

Base Game + University:

- You need 12 credits to earn your degree and you can select up to 4 per week, so if you want to finish as soon as possible you need to always get the 4 credits, if you want a more relaxed time you can get 2/3 credits, at the cost of spending one or two more weeks on university

- Always enroll on fridays, this will give your Sims the whole weekend to do all their homework, assignments on the computer and presentations

- Always have the Study Spot lot trait equipped, this will make your homework 20%, extremely useful

- Roomates! I personaly love roomates and how messy they are, they always make the lot much more lively and feeling like a true university dorm, i also give them makeovers with more interesting outfits and personalities

- Replacing the default lots is a must, i don't like how they look so i always replace them for some other lot from the gallery, specially the dorms and larrys lagoon, in my save i replaced them with Lilsimsie's versions and they're amazing.

- Having more than one sim in college helps a lot, with only one sim your going to spend a lot of time just looking at the screen waiting for them do finish his homework, having more than one means that they could have different schedules, preventing you from getting bored

- Ignore the organizations, i personaly find them boring and just an extra chore to do, even the secret society is not that fun

- Use the elective classes to learn unique skills, my sim is studying biology to become a doctor and he has an elective Apothecary credit, makes total sense for him to want to learn natural medicine, it doesnt have to make sense tho, your sim can study biology and have an elective programming class if that's what you want

Pack specifics:

Get Together:

- Clubs! Having clubs with your roomates is very fun if you want to have a gathering with them, my current sims have a very messy club where they keep pranking eachoter

Businesses & Hobbies:

- There's one family recipe that has a bonus effect that makes your homework faster, this combined with the Study Spot lot trait makes your sims speedrun their homeworks, sims can't cook on their dorms but if your family recipe with this effect is a salad you can still make it even with you have just a mini fridge

Royalty & Legacy:

- Scandals! Gossiping with your roomates and selling their secrets online is very fun

Crystal Creations:

- Crystal powers are OP, specially the plumbite one that can keep your sims needs full as long as the jewl/gem is charged, you can make your sim equip a jewel with plumbite and simply ignoring its needs for two days, if you want to spend two days in a row doing homework, nothing will stop you, it's a little hard to get plumbite but not impossible

Occult gameplay:

Realm of Magic:

- Brooms and Teleportation spell for faster transportation (less likely to be late for a class)

- Easy time with cleaning and fixing thanks to practical spells

- Potion of plentiful needs for restoring all of your Sims needs

Vampires:

- You'll always have roomates around you, easy source of plasma

Enchanted by Nature:

- Easy source of emotions

- If you have a bad moodlet you can ask a fairy roomate to absrob it for you or use a apothecary stone on yourself to remove it

im not too crazy about any of them men from the base game aside from the romance options and vic, but omg they cooked hard with male cast in the dlc
