[OS] Fuzzy Launcher with Liquid Glass

[OS] Fuzzy Launcher with Liquid Glass

When Apple first introduced the "liquid glass" effect, opinions were quite divided; some criticized its visibility, others admired its aesthetics, and some worried about battery life.

I remained fairly neutral, I found it interesting though.
To be honest, the Apple apps featuring this effect were quite buggy at launch.

Now that it has stabilized and the bugs have been ironed out, I’ve implemented it in my own app, and I think it looks great and modern. Here is the Repo
It’s just a custom theme (since I know many people don't like it), so it can easily be turned off.

Icons animate in response to certain changes, and the background, which looks as if viewed through a layer of glass and clear liquid, offers a pleasing, relaxing visual experience.

I haven't encountered significant issues with app performance or battery life, though I'm curious what others think. :)

PS: App is notarized

[OS] Fuzzy finding Launcher supports Niri

Niri is an excellent and promising window manager.
I have a fuzzy launcher called "Look" and decided to add support for Niri; :)
I’ve even switched to using Niri myself (my configuration is entirely minimal).

Beyond quickly searching for and launching apps or focusing on open windows, my app can also preview files and folders, search the web, and support quick actions.
It provides you a lot of other features...

It is also available on macOS, so using Look is very convenient if you work across both platforms.

Love receiving any feedback.

Thank you <3

[OS] Open source fuzzy launcher with Kindle theme

Hi there, I’m someone who has used Spotlight extensively;

However, I’ve noticed its performance has dropped recently, sometimes I can’t find the apps I’m looking for, and locating specific files and folders has become particularly difficult.

That’s why we developed Look - an open-source, that is completely FREE.
(Even though it's free, it has been signed with developer key and notarized.)

It has already surpassed 2,000 initial downloads, and we’ve received a great deal of feedback to help us improve during this development phase.

If you’re looking for a completely free replacement for Spotlight, I think Look could be a nice choice. 🙏

[OS] Open source fuzzy launcher with Kindle theme

I built a cross OS, fuzzy finding style launcher, this is really fast.
It's available on NixOS as-well.
We are actively developing, adding features, it might have bugs tbh...
It can help you open apps, files, folders, clipboard history, and quick commands (pomo, speed test,...) without leaving the keyboard, ...

Love receiving any feedback 🙏

[OS] A fuzzy launcher with new smooth motion

Hi my Look app - a fuzzy finding app launcher (basically so many things no only apps) dropped a new version.
In this version we added a super action control (for people never show their menu bar, task bar, etc), from this control you can switch, toggle on/off basic things, and see some useful information.
From the last version, we got some suggestions from the rust community members, we implemented one of them: process fuzzy finding on your machine. (finding with ps aux requires knowledge about grep, or tools like fzf)
Here is the repo https://github.com/kunkka19xx/look
It's a cross platform tool. Appreciate any feedback 🙇‍♂️

[OS] Thanks 1700 Downloads for our Look!!!

We just dropped a new version of Look - our fuzzy finding launcher!
https://github.com/kunkka19xx/look

It's one of the fastest, most powerful free app launchers out there on macOS written in Rust (it also runs on Linux and Windows).

Big thanks for the first 1,700+ downloads!
We're also really grateful for all the positive feedback from users.
They've been filing issues and dropping a lot of great suggestions for us.

[OS] Cross OS fuzzy finding launcher

I realized that I use tilling windows manager a lot, (When I'm not on Gnome)
I always put inner gap to separate windows on a workspace, that feels great.
And I put this idea into my app launcher, this is pretty fast. Linux and windows ver is made with Tauri. (MacOS ver is pure native swift) and core in rust (btw).
Repo: https://github.com/kunkka19xx/look
Not only app launching but also finding, copying, ... with files, folders, we have built-in commands like pomodoro, todo,... and you can also search web results.
This was tested on Gnome, sway, (arch, nixos, ubuntu)
If you're looking for a new app launcher, this is free and always open-source, community driven (we got many interesting ideas from many great guys) launcher.
Thank you, we'd love to hear your feedback :)

[OS] Cross OS fuzzy finding launcher

This is my open-source app,
This is a fuzzy finding (every things) app.
You can file apps, files in your machine, directories, search things on wiki, internet...

And it also has some other functionalities (clipboard his, copy files folders, pomodoro, shell executions, ...)
I'm trying to move it to brew core.
Appreciate any feedback, give it a star if you find it's helpful. 🙇‍♂️

My Cross OS launcher (NixOS in the image)

This is an open-source project I created to use for my personal usecases instead of Spotlight on macOS. Then some of my Linux friends wanted to use it, and I also use NixOS btw -> I ported this app to Linux and Windows using Tauri.

It was my first time making an app for Linux and Windows, and it was exciting but also challenging, with many edge cases through different distros. :)
