Someone on Twitter/X has managed to boot Mac OS XNU Kernel bare metal on a Google Pixel

Recently, a user named @TheLunarixus made a post on the 17th of August (Yesterday as of posting this) showing a Google Pixel 8 attempting to boot the kernel (though a kernel panic has been shown). Darwin 25.6.0 RELEASE_ARM64_VMAPPLE corresponds to Mac OS Tahoe.

Today this user has made some updates and also confirmed that the vphone userland can also be booted using the same kexts used in VMAPPLE1, which gives a possibility of booting both iOS and Mac OS on custom unofficial hardware.

I know that this post is unrelated majorly for this community, but with further Proof of Concepts coming out like this proves that booting Apple Silicon Mac OS can be possible under bare metal generic hardware.

Letting it clear about Roblox Clones (A.K.A. "Sandbox Games")

You might've noticed that our subreddit is about ROBLOX REVIVALS, and clearly I find outrageous having to write this post for all Reddit users passing by promoting projects.

What's so bad about Roblox Clones?

For years inside the r/oldrobloxrevivals, that community was often plagued with posts about simulators and clones (they call their projects "3D Sandboxes" or whatever horsesh*t AI writes), which weren't exactly a great user landscape and mostly only copies Roblox rather than inherently being an actual product off the actual code, completely ruining the vibe.

Since the moment we started this community, we've been riddled with promotions from users that were mixed, either being actual revivals or clones.

I know my argument sounds awful, though clearly we do not want any kind of promotion that is blatantly about clones.

We banned a couple of users from posting here (including one revival that passes by now as a clone), and you clearly don't want to fall under a ban for not flowing through our scope at what is allowed to post.

What do I do with my projects then if no clones are allowed?

Find a proper place rather than advertising here, this place is nowhere from being the right place if you want to advertise your sandbox here.

Hey, you mentioned Simulators, what are you gonna do?

We may allow some content to be posted here such as engine creation, demos, media, and such other things that are attributed around this community.

We do not prohibit them from being posted, but we still remain in our rights to remove such content, either being reasoned or not.

Is this gonna be passed down as a rule?

Yes.

For all ROBLOX Revivals developers

As of yesterday making this post (28th of July 2026), Stan a known ROBLOX reverse engineer has released his research regarding the vulnerable memory overflow bug that causes servers to crash if being attacked with Denial of Service (DoS).

Utilises a known bug in the code responsible for the padding separation, named as "RakNetDOS", where it sends an exhausting amount of information and breaks the server on ACK or NAK due to memory allocation panic.

The issue seems to only affect Mid 2012 to Early 2018 as tested by the writers of RakFail, though their document is not deemed as credible by matters that were recently brought up by u/XlXi_ and others who were involved in the conversation.

I believe it is important to bring this up alerting everyone on this subreddit seeing this post that your servers could be at stake if you don't apply the usage of DLL hooking, because the solution requires a memory override of the function. For developers using the 2016 source code, make sure to update ROBLOX's Networking branch to use the last commercial or open source version of RakNet.

Watrbx got a C&D order from Roblox Corp

Recently, Luke G. (watrabi) received a letter sent from Pillsbury, a legal agency partnered with Roblox Corporation, to take down watrbx as it was using both ROBLOX's trademark and its code.

This case has come to the public, and is also honourable to mention that 2 weeks ago, Syntax 2 received a C&D from the same agency to take down Robux transactions (PlayerAuction) as it was breaking the laws for "illicit transactions" and "damaging" ROBLOX's economy as it was mentioned in the C&D document.

Following Finobe's historical C&D due to using Roblox's client code, this can put us in danger for this community. For any US-based ORC developer, stay aware about what can happen with your project as it can face the same consequences due to US's copyright laws, and both watrabi and Raymonf serve as an example as to why you should stay safe.

The document is available in the Watrbx's announcement channel.

Disclosing some issues with Spam filtering

As you might've guessed, if your replies haven't been appearing instantly, it is because of the current configuration we set for moderation.

We want to preserve this community doing our best by making it safe from troll accounts, however it has been flagging accounts that have low poster quality yet with higher karma.

We will fix these issues by adding conditions to read your community karma and approve both your replies and posts if you have the following requirements:

  • 5 community karma for replying

  • 25 community karma for posting

Your posts will be approved manually by the moderators if any of these requirements are not met.

How to stay safe when playing old Roblox revivals

This is a copy of u/coolkidriot 's post at r/oldrobloxrevivals.

Everyone who has been around these communities for a bit should already know about the many issues that these projects have. If you’re new, here are some quick and important safety tips to keep in mind when you hang around on an old Roblox revival.

First things first, all old Roblox clients are widely known to be insecure, buggy, and vulnerable. It isn’t easy to go fix these issues (especially if they’re older) and the oldest ones are deemed as dangerous. Be mindful with whoever you are playing with on the oldest clients (2008-2010) so nothing unexpected happens on your computer.

Now, onto the tips:

  • When registering for a revival that requires an e-mail, NEVER use a personal email. Always use a burner or temp-mail. (If for whatever reason a revival requires a phone number to register, don’t even bother to register, even if it’s legitimate. Seriously.)

  • When playing on a client, be sure to use a VPN! Especially in revivals that require people to host their own games. (Your IP address is exposed to every hoster, even dedicated servers can log them)

  • When joining a revival, be aware of how secure it is. Small vulnerabilities can cause entire database leaks (which is common around here, unfortunately). Hence why you don’t want to share personal information.

  • Don’t use the same password that you use on everything. (This is actually basic security knowledge and you shouldn’t do this anywhere else)

  • Be mindful of who runs a revival and what their past consists of. It is common for people in these communities that have done some awful things in the past to run revivals and sometimes attack their own members.

Keep these things in mind and you’ll be good to go! Even though some things in here sound pretty bad, it’s not damaging to you when you find the right community. These communities have the following traits:

  • Proper security

  • Finished/completed client(s)

  • Active and friendly members

  • Friendly and non-abusive staff/developers

  • A secure and polished website

  • Working features

Be mindful and exercise common internet safety practices not only in old Roblox revivals, but everywhere else on the internet. It’s important to keep your private data secure!

My departure as owner of this subreddit

From the past post, I have told everyone that I no longer am going to be the owner of this subreddit, and after some time I got someone who could fit around this community maintaining.

u/-VisualPlugin-, notable for his amazing project Roblox Freedom Distribution (a massive Roblox launcher with both classic and modern Roblox clients) has been positioned as the top moderator and current owner of this community.

That doesn't mean I will leave this community as a whole, I will still moderate around here lol.

I thank everyone for the massive support given for the early growth for this community and I hope with VisualPlugin he can raise a bigger one around under his control.

I will be turning down ownership of this subreddit

Hello, meditext here.

For a long time, I've been the sole owner of this place and I've been operating this place to keep modern private servers here.

Created to serve as an alternative to r/oldrobloxrevivals, this place was really useful as a gateway for users to post. I really thank the support given in this community. I also thank u/JerPizzaRoll for being a great replacement owner for the subreddit ownership that kept this place on for ~2 year

As of recently, I had rescued an abandoned subreddit r/robloxrevivals (our sister subreddit), in which turned out to be an alternative for the old subreddit.

With some recent internal decisions, I am sadly announcing that I will be stepping down as the owner/Top moderator of this subreddit and I will look for someone who's qualified to replace my position.

I will be revealing though that it's not someone from the subreddit moderation.

If you are interested in moderating this place as a top mod, feel free to reach me out in Direct Messages.

Recently, r/oldrobloxrevivals has been closed approximately 11:10 PM (UTC-3) for unknown reasons. I may clarify that this subreddit is not meant for posting legacy roblox revivals, but rather modern (post 2018) private servers.

We still do not know what happened, and this subreddit is not associated with the group who's currently moderating there, but if any questions, feel free.

I've always played fairly, without insulting anyone or using hacks; in fact, I'm against using them. But today I opened the site ready to play a little and found that I'd been banned.
