Is there a "herp" equivalent for the words "mammalian" and "avian"?

I know herpetology is the catch-all term for the study of reptiles and amphibians, and herpetological is often used as a catch-all term, but I've been wondering lately if there is an "-an" word for herps, similar to "mammalian"/"avian"/"reptilian"/"amphibian"? I've been doing a lot of applications lately, and I often find myself saying "I have avian ID experience", and when I go to say the same thing about herps, using "herpetological ID experience" just feels weirdly wrong?

My apartment only carries Spectrum, and my bill keeps rising. Is there anything I can do?

My apartment complex only has Spectrum available to residents, and I'm on the Internet Gig plan. My bill started out 3 years ago when I moved in as like $70/month after discounts, and I was pretty satisfied with it. Now, my bill is $99.99 (supposedly after discounts). It's gone up every year, first to $85, now $100. Is there anything I can do about this? I see people commenting in threads with other companies like AT&T saying you can basically threaten to cancel your service and/or demand to speak to their "satisfaction team" and they'll magically wave a wand so that you get a discount, but I have no clue if this is true with Spectrum, especially considering no one else services my apartment.

UPDATE:

I called the customer service line, and billing explained how it was my promotions ending and "all they could offer" was locking my bill in at $100/month for the next year since my bill was set to rise again to $120/month in September. I said that's unacceptable, and insisted I wanted to cancel my service and sign up with another provider (all while being firm but polite, it's not the fault of the guy answering the phone). The billing agent said they'd transfer me to cancellations, and I was on hold for a bit. After probably 15 minutes of being on hold, someone from "customer solutions" picks up the phone and asks what's going on and what my issues are. I explained what's going on, and the guy was pretty sympathetic and agreed I was way overpaying.

I spent about 20-30 minutes answering questions and waiting for him to "look through promos", and then he comes back with an offer of $65/month gig internet plus a "free iPad"; I questioned the iPad, and turns out it was definitely not free it was $13/month for 36 months and if I ever had to cancel my service (i.e. if I move when my lease ends in March 2027), then I'd be responsible for paying off the device in full. I said no thank you, I don't need an iPad, and he went back to looking for more promos.

Final offer? Spectrum Gig (the top tier I'm already at) for $30/month locked in for a full year. My entire bill, including the wifi service and the base internet plan, will be $30/month starting next month. All and all, I spent probably 45 minutes to an hour on the phone, but it was worth it. I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner. The guy even recommended calling back next June to get a new promo.

How long did it take you to land a job in the field?

Just a general question I'd like to pose to people here in the sub. I just graduated with my Master's degree in May 2026, and I've been applying to just about every wildlife and environmental adjacent job here in my state (Ohio) since March 2026. I've landed a few interviews, even fewer second interviews, and no jobs. Always seems like there is someone else out there with more experience than me and they manage to land the job. The job market BLOWSSS right now for just about every field, especially natural resources with everything going on at the federal level, and it's getting a little disheartening. All these interviews at state and federal agencies keep telling me to keep my head up and keep trying, telling me that they got rejected from their first 6 or 12 job interviews, and most of these people have been working in the field for like at least 5 years.

So I'm just curious to hear it, especially from new graduates here, how's it going? How many rejections has it taken to land a job? Have you even landed a job? All that jazz.

Where do you guys find EIA/NEPA roles?

Hi everyone, I just graduated a few months ago with my Master of Environment and Natural Resources, and I got a certificate in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). My main focus in graduate school was wildlife management, but I got the certificate because EIA/EIS/NEPA is super interesting to me as well and seems it would be maybe more prevalent than wildlife management when it comes to job availability. I mainly use the Texas A&M natural resources job board, alongside USA Jobs and my state government job website. My question here is where are you guys finding these jobs working in EIA/NEPA/EIS? I rarely, if ever, see a role in those fields on any of those listed sources. Rarely, I'll see a private sector job on LinkedIn that is focused on NEPA and usually wetland delineation, but that's rarely. Where are y'all finding these jobs? Any suggestions?
