missed probation meeting?

i’ve been working at Wetherspoons two months now, and it’s going alright. it’s not the best job in the world but it’ll do. there’s still a lot of room for improvement and things i still need to do for the first time (no closing shifts for example).

i still haven’t had my 6 week probation meeting and i’m well over 8 weeks into the job now and it’s quite hard to improve when i don’t know what i need to be improving on. i’m also aware that three of the other new starters that started either on the same day or around me have had their probation meetings and i seem to be the only one without?

i was wondering if it’s normal for probation meetings to be missed and if it’s worth bringing up to a manager?

started a new job and i’m really bad at it

i’ve done a total of two shifts at Wetherspoons and i genuinely feel like i’m doing terribly. they’ve been busy Friday & Saturday nights, and i know i’ll get better eventually but i’m just so overwhelmed.

at my last job, i remember how scared i felt and i went home and cried because i was scared i couldn’t do it, but after the first month i was fine and i ended up working there nearly 2 years. however there was a lot more training and it wasn’t half as busy as it is here. my training was essentially thrown on the bar, and if i needed help with anything, just ask. i know the majority of the drinks, and i can deal with customers. it’s just remembering the specifics of everything & where everything is.

does it get better eventually or do i have to realise this job just isn’t for me?
