Question about phone spoofing

So, I generally understand how it works. Someone changes their caller ID data to be a different number. But how do they do it? Because it has to be more than simply changing your caller ID to be a different number, right? Since, if you did that, the fake number would just show up as your name, and then your actual number would still be visible in the recipients recent call history, right? How do they change the number specifically? Is it special software on the phone that allows you to edit more than what your phone's settings allow?

RIP Macias Cuban Sandwich Deli?

As a born Floridian, Macias on 41st had, hands down, the best cubans and empanadas I've ever had here. But lately, they cut their operating hours down significantly, and now they're listed as temporarily closed on google. Does anybody know anything?

Told by insurance that I have to have tried Dupixent before they'll cover my Rhapsido

This is a rant.

Why the hell do I need to have tried Dupixent, a medication that wasn't even approved to treat CSU for YEARS, when Rhapsido was specifically approved FOR CSU? I know, it's money, but this shit pisses me off. Free Luigi Mangione.

Interesting ASL storytelling assignment from 1984 found in old ASL textbook

(Full transcript in comments)

This is a common assignment for beginners learning sign language. The student would write a personal story (whether true or made up), and perform it for the class in sign language. Typically, these stories are written in 'ASL Gloss', a style of writing english that is more representative of ASL, using ASL definitions and syntax, and the student would then use their writing as a script while signing. This is why the writing sounds like "broken english", since ASL has a different word order, and omits a lot of suffixes/prefixes, pronouns and articles,

Whether this note is a good example of proper ASL Gloss is different story lol.

Anybody with GrapheneOS have a TTCU account? Does the app work?

Niche-est post on the planet here but,

I'm entertaining the idea of getting a google pixel and putting GrapheneOS on it, but I'm curious to know if TTCU's bank app works on it, and there's no info that I can find, since it's a local credit union. And if it didn't work for you, who do you have/how do you work around it?

Also feel free to give your opinions on how you're liking GrapheneOS, bonus points if you've had the experience of relying on proprietary Android for awhile before deciding to switch to an AOSP OS.

I have no idea who would possibly want this, I don't understand the decision to have it on by default, and it's pretty funny that there's currently a bug that allows it to be reenabled after restart. It's such a dumb feature, I don't get the reasoning behind doing it.
