MOONDROP app: can't log in to my account after update, "User has not bound a phone number" / "Operation failed"

After a recent update, the MOONDROP app forced me to log out and asked me to link a phone number. I can still open and use the app, but I cannot get back into my account.

  1. I log in with my email and password.

  2. The app asks me to link a phone number and shows "User has not bound a phone number."

  3. I enter my number (+91 India) and request the verification code. The app says, "Operation failed. Try again."

So, I cannot link a number, and I cannot log in to my account without one.

Already tried: repeating verification several times, restarting the app and phone, clearing the app cache, and checking that my internet is stable.

Setup: Samsung Galaxy S22, One UI 8, app version 2.26.1c-260930ai.

I just emailed support, so I am waiting for a reply. Has anyone else been forced to link a phone number after this update, especially with an Indian (+91) number? Did you find a fix, or does support have to bind the number manually? Screenshots attached.

AIR DROP SUPPORT

So the S22 isn't getting One UI 8.5, which already sucks. But what really stings is that AirDrop support through Quick Share is one of the features that comes with that update, meaning we're locked out of it entirely.

It would be nice if Samsung could backport even just that feature to older flagships like the S22. It's not asking for the full update, just one useful feature that would actually improve cross-platform compatibility.

It feels like we're being pushed to upgrade for features that could work on older devices.
