Help needed struggling with fissure fromast 7 days

Ive been suffering from fissure from last 9 days, ive been using fidonal cream (Lidocaine 1.5 and Nifedipine0.3) for 6 days and noticed no effect, then later went to an piles clinic and there he suggested zandu pileave pills, and creams using it for 3 days now, i already have an autoimmue health issue (IBD), how long will it take to heal it completely, already went to a general surgeon, i couldnt go to my GI as he lives in another city and traveling now is not possible, although the fissure is not very chronic, but passing bowel has been hurting alot since today morning, as yesterday while applying the cream ive put it to deep and it got struck maybe i accidently hit a tissue inside the anal and ive pulled it out with force, its paining since then, usually i have no pain while sitting, but while BM iam facing pain, using sitz bath after every BM.

Already went to a surgeon and he prescribed me lidocaine 2% and a laxative to keep my stools soft. Any tips would be highly appreciated

Thank you 🙏🙏

Made terrible mistake while applying fissure cream

I've been using creams for about a week. While applying the cream recently, the applicator seemed to catch or stick on some tissue a little inside the anal canal. When I gently pulled it out, it was painful.

Since then, I've had mild to moderate pain a little deeper inside the anus, separate from the fissure at the anal opening. It almost feels like I may have irritated or scratched the lining inside.

There's no heavy bleeding or fever, just this new pain deeper inside.

Has anyone with an anal fissure experienced something similar after using an applicator? Did it heal on its own, or did you need to see your colorectal surgeon or gastroenterologist again?

The applicator seemed to cause scar in tissue inside, its not so deep, but about 0.5 - 1cm inside the anus, the fissure is near the anal lips opening

Has anyone tried ayurvedic/herbal medicine therapy alongside regular meds ?

So this post might sound attacing to somepeople, now when i said ayurvedic i didnt mean completely depending on herbs or ayurvedic medicne, i mean to ask if anyone has taken it alongside your regular meds like mesalamine, azathioprine or biologics and has it worked you ?

So some of my family members are insisting on trying some ayurvedic meds aswell claiming it can heal the UC, now i dont kn how much of it is true, initially when i diagnosed with UC ive took ayurvedic/herbs as a support, they did support me till an extent like i was symptom free, although i was taking mesalamine on the side aswell, i was stupid enough to think that i was cured and stopped taking complete medication, almost 2 - 3 years later i had mild recal bleed but it was a fissure, but then again i went a got a colonoscopy ordered by a GI luckly the colonoscopy showed mild to Moderate left sided Colitis, and quickly i was told to take 4 pills of mesalamine, and then later after few months when i checked calprotecin it was high and quickly prescibed budensonide 9mg for 3 months and taperd ut down after 1st month and then i was back to normal, and then a year later due to high CRP levels i was prescibed Azathioprine and now everything seems to be normal just a small flare in the last 5 years , that generally came down with methylpredinsolony for 20 days only once and rest increasing the azathioprine to 50 Mg, i havent had any major symptoms, no diarrhea aswell, no mucus, abdominal pain , or blood.

Want to know if anyone here took ayurvedic herbs or medicine on the side for support.

Sorry for my grammatical mistakes 🙌🙌

Anal fissure

So yesterday I went to the doctor and after the examination, he confirmed to me that it was a fissure, Currently I'm not in a flare, but my last calprotectin showed 170, but i have no symptoms like diarrhea, blood, stomach cramps, weight loss, iam fine but ive had fissure yesterday confirmed by the doctor, he asked if i could take antibiotics to which i said my calprotectin was elevated so he instead prescribed me only with a laxative and lidocaine 2% cream for the pain, and i was using fidonal cream from last 4 days, i didnt go to my GI as i have to travel around 289KM's to consult with him so i chose to meet another doctor who is my dad's friend and is a general surgeon, and after examination he said it was fissure, and prescribed me with only laxative and a lidocaine 2% cream for the pain while passing stools, will the fissure heal fully ? Any other cream i can use ? Everytime i pass stool my anal lips scream, i usually go to stools like 2 - 3 times and all of the stools are formed .

Azathioprine increas to 50MG

So last week i consulted my GI as my calprotectin was 169, earlier i was taking 25MG azathioprine, after looking at the calprotectin my GI asked me to double it and repeat calprotectin after 3 months, ive had no symptoms, except for my anal lips are burning, today ive noticed very mild blood on my stool, though it was not too much and it wasy very very mild, it was like a mark on the stool surface, my anal lips are burning since last night, could it be fissure or hemmorhides ? Or does it mean inflammation in gut ? Or flare ? Ive no symptom even while the calprotectin was 170, except for mild bloating that to resolves after fart😭😭.

How long does it take for azathioprine to start working ?

169.78 cal protectin

Recently my calprotectin results have come and they are 169.79, i started taking plant protein which contains pea and brown rice protein isolates, it has guar gum as thickner i recently found that some certain thickners can mess.up ur natural mucosal layer of gut and it can result in elevated calprotectin, i used it only for about 13 - 14 days, i havent had any symptoms like bloody mucus, or blood or diarrhea, my stools were mostly formed, mild soft but overall they are formed, is it possible to reduce the cal protectin back to normal ? Currently iam on mesa and aza 12.5mg i was taking azathioprine 25mg till a week ago and not tapered it to 12.5mg a day.

Does elevated eosinophils indicate active UC or relapse ?

Today i got my CBP and CRP blood tests reports, CRP remains under range 4.1, and all the other CBP parameters are also in range, but eosinophils seems to be mildy elevated the normal range is 6 but i have 8, does it indicate any active inflammation ? Currently I am on mesalamine and azathioprine 25MG.

Fellow people from india, where do you guys get your calprotectin test done from ?

I am yet to get my calprotectin test done, and there are many options available, the cheapest being healthians they are charging 1250 rupees, but few of their reviews say they are unreliable, the local vijaya diagnostics charging 3200 rupees for the same, has anyone here tried healthians for calprotectin ?

Stoppin azathioprine, continuing treatment only with mesalamine

My GI advised me during my last visit that, at my next follow-up, he will decide whether to stop azathioprine after reviewing my fecal calprotectin levels. If my calprotectin is normal, he is considering continuing only mesalamine 2.4 g daily and stopping azathioprine. Ive been taking azathioprine for about 4 - 5 years

I have been in remission for about 4 years since my last major flare. During this period, I had one episode where my fecal calprotectin increased to around 1000. At that time, my GI was not available, so I consulted a general physician who prescribed methylprednisolone for 3 weeks. Later, when my GI was back in town, he advised a sigmoidoscopy, which showed only mild inflammation. A few weeks later, my fecal calprotectin returned to normal.

About 6 months ago, my GI advised me to reduce azathioprine from 25 mg to 12.5 mg. However, I was very scared of having another flare, so I never reduced the dose and continued taking 25 mg daily. I have not informed my GI about this yet, but I plan to discuss it with him at my next appointment before making any decisions about stopping azathioprine.

He also mentioned that if my next calprotectin result is normal, we could discuss whether to stop azathioprine completely and continuing only mesalamine.

I am quite anxious about this because I do not want to end up needing biologics in the future. They are very expensive in India, and I am currently pursuing my M.Tech and do not have a full-time job yet. I am also no longer covered under my father's company health insurance because I have turned 23.

Has anyone here successfully stopped azathioprine and remained on mesalamine alone long-term? How long have you remained in remission after stopping azathioprine? Did you eventually have to restart it, or were you able to stay in remission on mesalamine alone?

I would really appreciate hearing your experiences. Thank you.

Stopping azathioprine

I've been on azathioprine for 4 years now its has put me in remission, I've had flare once or twice in these 4 years, at least that's what the cal protectin has showed, but there seems to be mild inflammation very mild in the biopsy taken last year while performing colonoscopy, no visible inflammation can be seen in the colonoscopy, only after taking the biopsy it was mentioned about mild inflammation, now my GI has lowered the dose of azathioprine from 25MG to 12.5MG, i think im taking more than 12.5MG as 12.5MG is not avilable and i am taking half of that 25MG, my GI he wants me to stop taking Azathioprine and thats y he put me to 12.5MG, if i stopped taking it and discontinue it from my next visit will i have any bad effects ? Will the uc be back ? He said that after looking at Cal protectin levels he will decide he said .

Sorry for my bad grammar.

GI asked to Stop taking azathioprine, and reduced the dosage to 12.5MG

So during the last visit with my GI, my GI has asked me to take half of azathioprine 25MG, currently 12.5MG, but the issue is 12.5MG azathioprine is not manufactured only 25MG is available at the pharmacy, so only option left for me is to take half of it, and every time i break it in half or try to break it in equal half its not possible to get exactly half, so iam ending up taking more than half, and he told that after looking at the cal protecting levels he will stop them
