Zombie Cigarette Scandal Carp's players

Will the "zombie cigarette" scandal end the careers of the Toyo Carp players?

Hatsuki, Kozono, Yano, Maekawa, and Tamura—are their careers over? I ask this sincerely because, as a foreigner, I don't know how the Japanese public treats or reacts to cases involving drug use, whether the substances are legal or not. Where I live—in the Western—drug use is prohibited, and the reaction would obviously be negative, but players would still get a second chance in the sport. This is especially relevant given that Kozono is a Samurai Japan player and Yano is an elite defender, while the other three, though perhaps having a lower ceiling, are still NPB-caliber players.

O Problema do Fluminense e a Base

Time das Oitavas

O time que eu escolheria pra terça feira:

Fullback Ranking

I’m going to write a post about a position that has been forgotten but is still loved by many, myself included haha: the fullback. I’m ranking the best ones; if anyone disagrees, feel free to downvote or leave a comment.

• 1- Kyle Juszczyk (49ers):

To me, he is the best active fullback out there. Despite the position's decline, he’s a player from another era—though he did make a comment this preseason that I found unnecessary, stating that he produces like a tight end while the NFL treats him like a fullback contractually, thereby devaluing the position itself. He excels at almost everything you’d expect from an above-average fullback: blocking, receiving, formation versatility, and route running. If there’s one area where he isn't above average, it’s running the ball—though that might be a reflection of his background; he’s a Harvard-educated tight end, not a traditional running back or fullback. He is so vital to Kyle Shanahan’s offense that the special teams coordinator uses him sparingly—only for punt coverage and onside kicks—due to his status as an offensive starter.

• 2- Alec Ingold (Chargers):

To me, he’s the second-best fullback in the league; he’s been a favorite of mine since his college days at Wisconsin, followed by his stints with the Raiders and Dolphins. I think that, being coached by McDaniel again—one of the best run-game coaches around—he is perfectly positioned to lead the blocking for the Chargers' run game. He reads the field well in both zone and gap blocking schemes and also serves as a viable running option. He didn't have a huge year with the Dolphins in '25, but I think he has what it takes to bounce back on a better team.

• 3- Patrick Ricard (Giants):

To me, he is the best blocking fullback in the league. Patrick Ricard is a mountain of a man who delivers tremendous impact as a blocker. He has been crucial to the Ravens' strong running game in recent years—and not just in the I-formation; for a long time, the offense led by Greg Roman relied on the Pistol formation as its base. He makes an impact across various formations and will now be part of heavier I-formations, joining fullback Patrick Ricard and Cam Skattebo pairing in the run game.

• 4- Hunter Luepke (Cowboys):

One of the league's best young fullbacks, he was already a machine as a Bison at North Dakota State. After spending his rookie year developing on the practice squad, he earned the chance to play fullback and play a key role in the Cowboys' running game, which sometimes suffers from inconsistency. He offers great versatility—whether blocking, running, or catching passes—and is already a vital player; blocking schemes have been a crucial part of Brian Schottenheimer's offenses since his time at Georgia, with the Jets, and with the Seahawks, for instance.

• 5- Reggie Gilliam (Patriots):

To me, Gilliam is the league's best special teams fullback—a blocking powerhouse who came from Toledo as a tight end and made a highly effective transition to fullback with the Bills. However, in terms of raw ability, I would rank him slightly behind the top three. He also left for a rival team, the Patriots, this preseason on the highest-value contract at the position; we’ll see if that turns out to be an overpay.

• 6- Adam Prentice (Broncos):

He is one of the best value-for-money fullbacks in the league. A veteran who spent his early years with the Saints, he arrived at the Broncos—his hometown's state team—as a journeyman brought in to temporarily fill Michael Burton's spot. He stood out during the preseason and played a key role in the running game, helping to compensate for an offensive line that isn't as efficient at run-blocking as others. He turned down offers from the Raiders and the Bills this offseason to re-sign with the Broncos on a veteran minimum contract, demonstrating the value he places on his relationship with the team and Sean Payton.

• 7- Andrew Beck (Jets):

A well-traveled fullback, he has played for several teams—including the Broncos, Packers, and Texans. He offers versatility and familiarity with various running schemes—likely a result of his time with multiple franchises—and is effective on special teams; he also helped improve the team's run game last year by serving as a solid blocker for Breece Hall. However, his roster spot is at risk, as the offense will be led by a new coordinator, Frank Reich, who has never been a fan of having a fullback on his rosters. Nevertheless, he was re-signed, suggesting that the GM and team management see a place for him on the team.

• 8- Connor Heyward (Raiders):

He is one of the league's most underrated fullbacks, offering great versatility; beyond his blocking ability, he excels on special teams and serves as an option for "QB Sneak" plays. He turned down a contract extension offer to sign as a free agent with the Raiders, where—under Klint Kubiak's new offense, which values the fullback position—he will play a key role as the lead blocker for Ashton Jeanty.

• 9- Michael Burton (Browns):

Michael Burton is one of the few remaining old-school fullbacks in the league. His main strengths are run blocking and special teams play. He brings experience from stints with several teams, including the Lions, Saints, Chiefs, and Broncos. Last year, an injury sidelined him for the season, leading him to sign a league-minimum contract with the Browns—a team currently reshaping its running game under Todd Monken compared to the Stefanski era. I believe the preseason will be crucial for him to secure a roster spot.

• 10- Carson Steele (Eagles):

Carson Steele is a fullback with prior experience as a running back at UCLA; he joined the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent and performed well during his rookie year—even earning AFC Pro Bowl alternate status—but lost significant ground the following season, ending up on the practice squad without being activated for a single regular-season game, despite the Chiefs' running game struggles in 2025. After being released by the Chiefs, he signed a futures contract with the Eagles—a team where GM Howie Roseman has prioritized having a lead blocker for the run game and special teams since at least 2024. Four fullbacks have cycled through the roster over the last two seasons, and I believe Steele faces competition for the spot from Cameron Latu, who took over as fullback after Van Summeren was injured early in the season.

• 11- Robbie Ouzsts (Seahawks)

Ouszts isn't bad as a fullback, but he wasn't a factor for the Seahawks in 2025—so much so that the team didn't struggle without him in the playoffs. I hope he develops as a fullback, even without Klint Kubiak as OC; the new guy, Brian Fleury, was the 49ers' run game coordinator, so he knows how to coach the run game well.

He also saw limited action on special teams—which slightly lowers his grade as a fullback—something surprising given that he comes from Alabama, a school known for valuing special teams play among its starters.

• 12- Anthony Firkser (Lions):

He is another journeyman at the position, like many others. Like Juszczyk, he also came from Harvard, but that is where the similarities end. He has played for the Jets, Titans, Falcons, Chiefs, and Lions. He offers versatility, capable of playing fullback, halfback, blocking tight end, and special teams. Last year, when the Lions' tight end group was hit by an injury crisis, he got an opportunity and handled first-team snaps well. He spent time with the Commanders this preseason but was released; he recently signed a minimum-salary contract to return to the Lions. Now that the tight end group is healthier, he could become the "fullback" for Jahmyr Gibbs in the running game.

PS: Firkser broke his fibula during training camp and was placed on the IR list. The team brought in a fullback/tight end with a similar skill set to replace him—Zach Horton, who had been released to make room for Firkser's signing.

•13- Cameron Latu (Eagles)

Cameron Latu is a tight end by trade out of the University of Alabama. Despite being a third-round pick in 2023, he failed to prove his worth with the 49ers (a reflection of John Lynch's poor drafting record, particularly with Day 2 and Day 3 picks). After spending the 2024 season on the Cleveland Browns' practice squad, he signed with the Eagles in 2025. He remained on the practice squad following training camp but was promoted to take over the fullback/special teams role after VanSummeren was injured in Week 1. His background as a tight end offers valuable versatility, and Barkley posted high PFF grades when Latu was on the field. However, Kelvin Patullo’s run-game scheme in the second half—which utilized fewer blockers—caused the team to lose significant rushing efficiency. The team also signed Carson Steele this season; since carrying a fullback is a preference of GM Howie Roseman, the position is likely to remain on the roster. The two fullbacks have different skill sets, so it is even possible for both to make the final roster, making for an interesting battle for fans of the running game.

•14- Ben VanSummeren (Bills)

Ben VanSummeren has a fascinating backstory. He started out as a fullback/running back walk-on at Michigan, but after the offense shifted from a multiple-scheme approach to a Spread/Pro-Spread system, he switched to linebacker before transferring to Michigan State. He finished his college career in Lansing as a starting linebacker. After going undrafted in 2023, he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles and stood out on special teams; in 2024, he transitioned from linebacker to fullback and excelled as a lead blocker for Saquon Barkley, though he ultimately suffered a season-ending injury in December. In the 2025 season, he was injured on the very first kickoff of the regular season opener against the Dallas Cowboys. He remained a free agent until after the draft, eventually signing a veteran-minimum contract with the Bills—a team seeking a new fullback after losing Gilliam to the Patriots and facing rejections from other players on the market. He is currently competing in training camp against undrafted rookie Jackson Acker. The two fullbacks offer different skill sets: while Acker has a build more akin to a running back, VanSummeren is more comparable to a linebacker. He possesses the necessary technique and blocking ability—even if his raw strength isn't his defining trait—and is an excellent special teams player; however, availability is key, and having suffered two season-ending injuries could work against him.

•15- British Brooks (Texans)

British Brooks is an unconventional fullback; originally a running back at the University of North Carolina, he went undrafted but stood out as a special teams player. He impressed at the 2024 training camp in this role and earned a roster spot as a running back. After some back-and-forth, he secured a position as a backup running back/fullback for 2025. He initially shared duties with veteran Jakob Johnson—who was on the Houston Texans' practice squad—but once Johnson hit his elevations limit, Brooks took over the role exclusively; however, the fullback position saw limited usage in Nick Carley’s offensive scheme, totaling just 71 offensive snaps. For 2025, he dropped another 7.5 pounds, which is a concern for a fullback. He might be transitioning back to a halfback role, making his future at the position uncertain. In my opinion, he is merely a mediocre running back but could be an excellent fullback. Several average running backs—such as C.J. Ham and Marcel Reece—became great fullbacks, and I think that could be the path for him. He is already a solid special teams player—a valuable trait for the position—but his future depends on how Nick Carley, Danny Barrett, and Cole Popovich envision the Texans' run game for 2026.

• Rookies

This rookie class is solid; it’s too early to evaluate these players' first seasons, but three of them were drafted, which demonstrates their value to coaches and scouts. My standouts among the rookies are Brederson (Vikings), Nowakowski (Steelers), Kanak (Titans), Acker (Bills), and Large (Bears).

So, what do you think? Is it a good list? Most people probably don't even know who the guys at the end are—haha—but this is my way of recognizing the underrated yet extremely dedicated players on the roster.

PS: I made a few more additions and ended up with 15 fullbacks; I might even add more if other fullbacks are named starters during or after training camp.

Alan Walker's song "Pain"

DJ Alan Walker released the song "Pain"—part of the FFCOTW soundtrack, on his YouTube channel today. Will Alan Walker also appear in the game as a playable character? It is worth noting that Salvatore Ganacci is one of the guest characters in the original lineup, and many speculated that another musical artist would be included; Steve Aoki, in particular, was frequently mentioned when the game was released.

Could Silvio Baldini be the coach for the post-2030 cycle

I am writing this text to say that after yet another crisis of the Italian National Team, it wouldn't be a bad option to prepare Baldini to be the coach for the cycle following the 2030 World Cup. He could be Mancini's primary assistant coach and begin his managerial preparation to become the Head Coach after the next World Cup, just like Germany did with Joachim Löw and Spain did with Luis de la Fuente. He is a coach with good ideas and tactical planning, and he has good results in youth development.

He knows the youngsters being produced within this terrible youth production system of Italian domestic football. If he manages to get something out of the current system—serving as head coach first and later having a technical and sporting director who can overhaul the guidelines of the Italian youth training system.

I believe he can succeed in the medium and long term.

Rush in Act II Season 2.

just finished the fourth episode of Season 2, Act II, and I believe rushing to fit the season into just 13 episodes was a huge mistake. A summer tournament arc simply cannot be told this way. The match against Sosei lasted only eight minutes in the anime. The opposing school's, a Sosei High School backstory, the team's defense, the value of key players Nara and Nagisa, and Coach Koizumi's friendly and leadership philosophy—it was all ignored. As fans—especially of the manga—we are being disrespected when the story is told like this. I’m just venting, but I wanted to share my dissatisfaction with you all.

Qual vai ser o futuro do Boavista?

Olá amigos do Boavista.

Qual é o futuro do Boavista? O clube vai realmente vai fechar as portas?

Meio Campo no Futebol Brasileiro

F1 Middle East Rounds in 2026?

My post isn't about politics—so I hope the moderators don't delete it, haha—but shouldn't the FIA and FOM be making a decision regarding the three Middle Eastern rounds on the calendar by now? One of them is the season finale, and we don't know if it will actually take place. Ideally, there should be a replacement lined up in case a cancellation becomes necessary. I know that MBS, being Emirati, will likely try to delay the decision until the very last minute; however, for the sake of short-term season planning, a decision needs to be reached as soon as possible. In my opinion, if a replacement is needed, I would prefer European rounds (like Germany or France) to keep costs down; in that scenario, the races would ideally be scheduled no later than the end of October due to weather conditions. Any later than that, and only Iberian countries like Portugal or Spain would be viable options within Europe; otherwise, the race would have to be moved outside Europe—to the US or Asia (China or even Malaysia)—which would be complicated by the fact that travel costs to the Middle East region are currently higher due to the ongoing conflicts.
