1995 “NHL All-Star Hockey” Intro
If we are doing hockey video games intros from back in the day, this was by far my favorite.
This was the first hockey game I remember where you could manipulate the camera view on replays.
Edit: I believe this was on the Sega CD.
Sharks Power Skating Coach, Cathy Andrade, on working with Karmonov:
Cathy has worked with a bunch of Sharks over the years. I
Grier’s Plan
Nurse and Trouba for Now and Verhoeff, Lin, and Pohlkamp for Later.
I believe his moves today show a shift in the plan. Grier is probably aware that having a very young defense was not going to improve regular season results.
This shouldn’t be surprising. Trouba and Nurse are direct upgrades for Klingberg and Leddy. They will provide some veteran leadership and play an average level game as this team grows up.
Yes we have a lot of amazing young talent, but a lot of that talent is not ready to succeed at the NHL level.
I do agree with Grier that Muk was not a player that is on a championship roster for San Jose. I think all things being equal he was not going to be here long term in Griers eyes.
As for the salaries handed out, it seems like all the deals signed for UFAs today were a year or two long and a million or two too expensive.
When the dust settles the Sharks back end and checking line just were improved. And the cap structure should be fine at the expiration of these contracts. Verhoeff and Lin will just be getting their second contracts.

[Puckpedia] 2026-27 NHL Offseason Outlook: San Jose Sharks
puckpedia.comThe San Jose Sharks, meanwhile, are far enough along in their rebuild that GM Mike Grier is absolutely open to moving the No. 2 pick, depending on the offers, per league sources. - LeBrun
I would think this is Grier being smart and leaving his options open.
However you should be prepared that you might not see Stenberg in teal.
Fun look back at the 2017 pre-draft rankings
While we all argue about picking a “sure thing NHL forward” or a “possible top 2 defender” it’s important to look back at previous drafts and see what was being written about the best prospects in draft’s past.
Lessons to be learned from every draft.
I’m not pro-Stenberg or pro-Reid but I am just going to enjoy watching this team for decades whichever pick Grier makes, he’s been making great decisions on draft day thus far.
Regardless of what you believe, maybe the Sharks Ice sports bar shouldn’t be showing a religious “news” channel that is politically polarizing.
