My first car

I love my 2010 Camry LE!! No dents (just a little tiny ding over the front right tire) or scratches. 170,000 km US car with full service history. Found the last owner’s number in my glove box and called him to ask why he sold it and if there was any issues with it. He said he had no space for it anymore traded this for newer car. Said it was his winter car and he babied it.

I paid around 8K CAD and had to buy new rims/ tires for it and some minor fixes which came to about ~9.5K CAD (6.9K USD). I’m just looking to see if I overpaid for this car. I don’t think so at all since it’s low-ish mileage and in almost perfect condition (ABS noise only when braking at super low speed) but someone said that I paid too much for this age and mileage lol.

Also what do you guys think of the colour tho 👀 I wasnt a fan of it but its kinda growing on me

Hello everyone and thanks in advance for your help!

I’m looking to buy my first car for my job 80 km away (50 miles), and then after a year I’ll be driving up through remote Northern Ontario for university ~ 1500 km (930 miles) away. I want a car that’ll be with me atleast 3-4 years.

So far I have narrowed my search down to the following cars within or around my budget:

2010 Toyota Camry 2.5L @177K km (110K miles)

2009 Toyota Camry 2.4L @similar mileage to the 2010

2005 Toyota Matrix XR 1.8L @132K km (82K miles)

2009 Toyota Matrix XR 1.8L @128K km (80K miles)

Help me decide which one I should pick that wouldn’t break down in middle of nowhere Ontario (scary)

Thank you!
